my son is 3 1/2 months old now and i exclusively breastfed for 4 weeks. after that, he developed thrush and passed it on to me. it then became very painful and uncomfortable and could only breastfeed for abiout 5 minutes before i would break down crying from the stinging raw skin. i began supplementing with formula and eventually, my supply dried up. i had a hard time dealing with this, somewhat depressed. is it in any way possible begin breastfeeding exclusively again? its been about 12 weeks realistically that hes been on formula. occasionally when i squeeze a nipple, it produces a little drop of milk but more times than not, it doesnt. how can i make him want to feed from me even if i could reestablish rather than a bottle now that hes used to it? or is all hope lost...... i will definetly be doing it again with any other children i have and hoping things go well, but i really feel like he may be missing out on something not breastfeeding.. whether it be nutritionally or in our bond

I have done a lot of research on proper nutrition for infants, on breastfeeding, and child psychology. I'll listen to anyone who has something to say from their own experience, but I don't like being treated like I don't know anything because I'm a new mom. Last night, I heard all this nonsense from friends who think I'm nursing my daughter too often, and I should give her water and tea if she doesn't last 5 hours between meals. I should never sleep with her, I shouldn't let her be too attached to me or she'll be a mama 's girl, and never become independent, and I should be giving her more solids, and only nurse her twice a day. For goodness' sake, she's only 8months. It kind of made me feel like I'm a bad mother, even though I know in my heart, that what I do is right.
Do any of you mommies have similar stories?

Baby Girl is due the beginning of October so the winter will be setting in soon after. It's my first, but I know babies are messy and don't need many "going out oufits" but I don't really know what quantity I need of these things. I have a "bunting suit" or "snow suit/jacket thing."

How many nice outfits? (sweater/pant combo w/ hat etc)
How many casual outfits? (fleece hoodie/pant combo etc)
How many onesies?
How many socks?
How many sleeping outfits?
How many bibs?

For 0-3, 3-6 and 6-9???

I had to work today so my boyfriend had to take our 4 month old to her doctors appt and with him everything gets lost in translation.

He said the doctor said that we should start feeding her fruit, a different kind every other day.

So my question is, What kind of fruit is he talking about??? Like the little jars of gerber fruit??

I know its a DUH question but I have to make sure!!

I've had mine not even 2 years & the breaks are broken from overuse, the wheels squeak like crazy & I've tried everything which only helps for a little while, the sun visor isn't nearly big enough & it's hard to maneover with one hand. I've heard many other similiar complaints from friends. Anyone else experienced these problems?

Me and my husband have been vegetarians for years. Our son is 7 months, so he could start eating meat, but we can't decide whether it is necessary or not. I read couple of books about baby food, and the thing is that not even doctors seem to be sure if not eating meat can cause some damage for babies development. Any ideas? Do you know anyone whose child never had meat and is healthy? Of course I am going to give him meat if I find out it is necessary, but so far I just don't know.

Ive noticed more and more recalls concerning products made in China. I have a 10 month old child and noticed all her toys that she puts in her mouth are made in China. If there is a recall of lead paint being in the toys and she gets sick who is liable and can I sue.

He has tried all of the cereals and we are making our way through fruits. Do I offer him his bottle at the same time? Or schedule it at different time than his bottle. I offer 30 ounces a day, he usually eats @ 25. The pediatrician said to still off him that amount. Do I give the fruits twice a day until we move on vegetables along with the cereal? Any suggestions would be great.

If a child was born 1 month premature, and 3 months have passed from their DOB, their ______ age is 2 months.

I don't really know how to explain this better. In discussions with my mother about my daughter (5 weeks premature), I apparently mentioned a type of age that was neither gestational, conceptional, nor corrected, As this was 6 1/2 years ago, I don't remember what I said. Now she's asked me and its driving me nuts!
