I am going to be throwing my sister-in-laws baby shower and I've found a really cute idea online. The thing is, I don't know how to say it on the invite while still being proper.

The idea: "Time of Day" Each guest will be assigned a 'time of day" on their invitiation, for instance "meal time", "bath time", "play time", "nap time". The guests gift for the baby shower would correspond to the time of day they received.

The problem: How do I properly say this on an invitation, because you can't assume/expect that someone will even bring a get.

Any ideas?

I know this question has been asked before, but the answers were a little iffy so I thought I'd post it, too.

When should you start giving your formula-fed baby water? My son is 5 months old and the doctor has never mentioned a thing about it. We use powdered formula mixed with water, so of course he's getting hydrated, but I wondered if we were supposed to be giving him plain water, too? And if so, how much a day?

Her pediatricians nurse says sometimes breast fed badies just absorb it all. Does that sound right to you?

I am really quite worried about the little girl as in the last 6 months that I have known them she has not gained a pound or grown an inch. She is still in 0-3 month or sometimes 3-6 omnth baby clothes. Her Mum and Dad are both about 5ft 5in but even at that I feel that she is very, very tiny and I am finding it hard to find the right words to express my concern.
Can anyone tell me if they know how to find a centile chart online for children so I can find out roughly how much she should weigh. Thanks.

I was wondering what the pros/cons are? The worst I can think of are stinky diapers...having to wash them...how do you handle that? How many diapers do you have to buy, on average? How hard are they to learn to fold? Any info would be great, thank you.

I just wanted to hear if anyone has chosen not to use a pacifier for their baby and if so, how was your experience?

For parents that do use a pacifier, at what age do you stop?

My son is 8 and half months old and all he can really say is "aa!" "aa!".

Occasionally he adds a sort of vowel - ie "aa! laa! aa!" or "aa! daa! aa!".

My other half is so *desperate* to hear him say "Daddy"!! He keeps saying "He just said 'Daddy' I know he did!!" and I have to explain that it was just a random vowel noise that sounds like Daddy. He then looks really crestfallen and says "you know how to spoil the moment don't you" lol!

When did you hear your little one say their first words (or semi words?!)

Our baby is 3 days old and my wife is nursing colostrum, not milk yet. She nurses for about 20 minutes and then he falls asleep and wakes up 15 minutes later wanting to nurse again. I can tell because he cries until I offer my pinky finger and he sucks so I hand him to my wife but she says she already gave him enough and shouldn't give him more but I see that he wants more and insist. I don't want to argue with my wife. What do we do?

I'm giong back to work, when my baby is just 8 weeks old. i've found a day care lady i can afford. basically here is the situation. she is like around 40 or 50, and she has 3 grown kids ( the youngest is 14 and still lives there) and lives w/ her hsuband. they have a house across the street from our local high school. anyways, she is NOT licensed; however, she has about 4 toddler age children she watches. her whole house is set up for a day care, kids stuff in every room. she also welcomed me to drop in unannounced to check it out. i did just that and she let me right in to look around. seemed all good, there was just two things that botherd me that might seem minor. basically, she set my baby in the car seat on the kitchen table ( the manual says not to) and then the other thing was that she said " if we have an accident, it will be ok, babies bones are really flexible. when i had my daugheter ( the 14 yr old) i fell asleep with her on my lap and she rolled on the floor and everyt
