Take him to the doctor, they'll be able to advise you better.

By the way, congrats on your baby! :)

My son developed a cold around that age too. I had to bring him into the pediatrician's to make sure his breathing was ok. After speaking with the pediatrician, I was told to get a humidifier to help with his breathing and Pedialyte if the phlegm in his throat worsened. Do not give him any cold medicines, as they are too young at this age. Usually the virus is left to clear itself out, which can take up to a week, but you really should see the pediatrician. Best of luck to you.

Don't give him anything until you talk with your Pediatrician. I don't know of one OTC med that is labeled for under 3 months. Call the physician's office and talk with the nurse, they may be able to get you in to see the doc this AM or sugest something you could give him to help with these symptoms.

Since he is so young and you are a new mother, I suggest you take him to the pediatrician. Ask him how to determine when it's necessary to bring him in when he develops these symptons again. This way, you'll have peace of mind.

Call your ped and talk to a nurse and see if you need to bring him in. She might just tell you some things to try at home first.

Take him to the doctor while it's still at the beginning of the sickness.

probalby just take him in. resperatory illnesses are terrible in babies, you feel so bad for them, at least the doc can recommend some appropriate medicine for him and the correct dosing.
