My child had a sore throat, i made her feel better by adding lots of organic sugar to warm water, which she has had 3 bottles per day, also i have given her maximum dose of paracetamol every 4 hours and she is miles better, not crying and settling. It could be chicken pox too, only way to know is if the spots appear in a few weeks... thanks for all of you answers

When my baby was 6 months she had chicken pox and she was in the bath constantly..... I ran a cool bath and let her lie down the water seemed to take the itch out of the spots, then patted her dry dabbed her spots with calamine lotion and put one of her bigger size t-shirts on her so it didn't rub against her.

Well, I hope that she's feeling much better by now and that you are feeling better too! If it is chicken pox then calamine lotion is terrific once the spots appear. You can get it in a tube now - when we had c.pox it was just available as a liquid and dripped everywhere! Make sure you get the spots covered with it often - you can't overdose with it or anything. It just helps cool and soothe them. Apart from that, just try and keep her occupied as much as you can (I know that's not always easy to achieve with a 1-year-old) to keep her mind off it. It may be that you are already over the worst of it now so fingers crossed. Get well soon little girly!

I hate to say it, but it might be time for a trip to the GP - it could be an ear infection or anything and it's best just to get it checked out. My little girl didn't cry when she had chicken pox and apart from a bit grouchy, I don't think they suffer too much with it at that age, so it might be something else. Good luck!

Good luck at the doctors. May i just suggest if when you get back she is still not sleeping you should try the childrens medicine- medised. It has something in it for when they're poorly to help them sleep it really does work she'll be asleep before you know it! It comes in a bright pink box you can get it in boots or superdrug prob most pharmacies. Best of luck hope your little angel is ok! x x

I agree with Rachael H. Take a trip to GP. My daughter suffers from recurring ear infections and they hurt like mad, but antibiotics soon clear it up. If it is just chicken pox at least you've put your mind at rest. And at the end of the day it just has to be lots of fluids and lots and lots of cuddles and tlc (tender loving care). Good luck and let us all know how you get on.

Give her a bath in Aveeno bath treatment. I'm not sure if that is the correct name but it IS made by Aveeno. It's an Oatmeal powder that you put into the bath water. It will soothe her and calm the itch. Calamine lotion will also help with the itch and works as an antiseptic to prevent infection from scratching.

This advice may come too late. But don't you give the baby a jab of antibody for chicken pox?

They caught be evening terrors, its no longer something you have executed it in basic terms happens in some toddlers, my 11 month previous son does it, if she does it around the comparable time very evening then wake her up 5-10 minutes in the previous hand save her conscious for slightly then placed her backtrack they might desire to cease relatively quickly, that is ceremony to no longer wake her up it provides you her extra of a fright. wish this helped.

Sounds like croup. If she isn't pulling on her ears, it probably is not an ear infection. Does she have a fever? You need to get her in to see the doctor. Poor baby can't be getting any sleep.

Nightmares come from hidden stress factors in the environment that may be subconscious to us. Gas, however, is the usual cause. Lack of vitamins or reaction to certain 'foods' also. We can be intuitive and sensitive to the reaction to these things as they are brought into contact with the child. Even people or images. Obviously cleanliness and people can bring germs. Love can help build the immune system.
