Im due next month and we have 2 other children, ages 9 and 11. I drive an SUV that has a 3rd row and my husband drives a 4 door ..but its a small 4 door. He recently got a new job that required us to switch cars because he needs the room. I just tried putting the car seat in the 4 door and its not working out too well. I tried the middle so that my other 2 kids can sit on either side but the hump in the middle makes it unsafe so I had to put the carseat on the passenger rear side. That worked ok and my other children fit fine, but when I tried to get in the front, the car seat was so big that my knees were pressing against the dashboard because I couldnt come back very far with the front seat. My husband and I are both tall. How on earth is this going to work lol? Where do you put your carseat and what is your situation? Thanks everyone

Ladies, I intend to breastfeed for as long as I can (if I am able) when my baby arrives in 8 weeks. Can you advise me what I need. I am thinking just 2 bottles, a breast pump and a sterilser for when I want to express. Any advice on breastfeeding in general would also be appreciated thanks.

My husband and I have a 3 month old baby girl. Everytime we plan something and casually mention it to our parents, they automatically assume they will get to watch the baby. This has become a problem because then we have to pick.

We've talked to all of them about the situation and they were understanding. But it's still the same! We are going out of town for one night next weekend and we chose my in-laws to watch her. Well of course my mom assumed she was going to watch her... when I told her my in-laws were keeping her she got an attitude with me! (which she does on the regular now). I almost don't want to talk to her anymore. She's been like this ever since I moved out 2 years ago!

Any Suggestions? Can anyone relate?

People have said that its going to be hard to divide the attention to both my boys if Im breastfeeding. My son will be 1 Sept.6th and Im due with my 2nd on Sept.27th. I did breast feed my 1st and I did want to breast feed my 2nd until recently.I feel overwhelmed and sad thinking about how Im going to divide my time equally.Just thinking back on those times breast feeding my 1st It was hard at times trying to raise him and take care of myself by myself. Now to have a very clingy mommas boy and a newborn I dont know if I'll be able to breastfeed and take care of both my boys equally. Breastfeeding takes alot of your time.My husband is also going to be leaving to Iraq between Sept.24-27 for 15 months.I'll be moving in with my family but I just wont have as much help as I would if my husband were here.So do you moms out there think I can do it?? My son is a Momma's boy.

Happily married, Im a veteran thinking it would be easy to bring up a boy, now I have to bring up a little girl, and some how not be so strict. I just wanted to play ball, and bond with my boy, Is it possible to do that with a girl, but no so much that she becomes more tom boy than girl like..?

Hi
With your first babies, what was the item you just never needed?

With me it was the changing mat. I changed her on my sofa, dont know why people use them! lol! I never got mess on the sofa, but then again she never peed with her nappy off like some babies always manage!!

Any comments! Might make it useful for new mums to have a list of "NOT ESSENTIAL" items!

Lately Ive been finding my 4 week old is always hungry, like every 30 mins to an hour hes hungry. Is this normal? Am I not producing enough milk for him?
He isn't at the nipple for very long, maybe less then 10 mins at a time. I always offer more, but he doesn't take it.

Also have any of you moms had a sharp pain in your breast while feeding? When I feed him from one breast I have sharp pain in the other. The pain is mostly on my right breast. Midwife checked for thrush but thats a no.

Any ideas?

I just answered a question by a 16 yr old who wanted to know why her newborns skin was yellow. She also stated that she had her FIRST baby when she was 12. I don't know how serious she is, for all I know she could be making it up . But why is it that I see so many people saying congrats and such to them when they need to be telling them to quit having sex to begin with. I sure wouldnt be saying congrats to a girl who's barely old enough to drive when she's asking questions about her babies health that could kill her if she doesnt take her to the doc's or the hospital. Instead she's asking total strangers. I find it scary to know that our future children have to be raised by children themselves. I dont buy for one minute that whole sob story of how young they are and blah blah. I was a young mom too but I had common sense. It pains me to know that these babies are in the hands of complete morons.

Took him to the doctor yesterday for his ltl bi weekly checkup. ltl monster weighed in at 12lbs 10oz. I couldn't believe it. also im fairly certain he's going to have blue eyes now. which i think is pretty damn cool, considering mom and my other two monsters have the BIG BROWN eyes.

Say the mother has no breastmilk and is stranded. Will the baby starve because he/she can't eat solid food? Solid food like a mashed up banana, oatmeal, mashed potatoes, rice, mashed cooked carrots, etc. ? How about 2 weeks old to 3 months old?

My daughter is almost 15 mos old. I feed her some table food and some baby food, mostly just to make sure she's getting her veggies. I'm mostly looking for dinner ideas. She's not that into meat so I worry about her getting enough protein. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!!
