I just answered a question by a 16 yr old who wanted to know why her newborns skin was yellow. She also stated that she had her FIRST baby when she was 12. I don't know how serious she is, for all I know she could be making it up . But why is it that I see so many people saying congrats and such to them when they need to be telling them to quit having sex to begin with. I sure wouldnt be saying congrats to a girl who's barely old enough to drive when she's asking questions about her babies health that could kill her if she doesnt take her to the doc's or the hospital. Instead she's asking total strangers. I find it scary to know that our future children have to be raised by children themselves. I dont buy for one minute that whole sob story of how young they are and blah blah. I was a young mom too but I had common sense. It pains me to know that these babies are in the hands of complete morons.

Silva, why would anyone give you a bad rating for your answer. Not your in support of teen pregnancy or anything. And Taboo.. Im not full of crap . If your sterile that means you cant have kids. So unless it's immaculate conception, your not pregnant. Quit having sex.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I was younger than I planned on being when I became pregnant with my first child but I had at least already graduated from high school. I was barely 18 and thought that was too young.
I also went to school with a girl who had her first baby when we were in 7th grade which made her 12-13years old. That's not good but she handled it well. She had the baby and takes good care of her and had her second in 10th grade and still finished school. Both kids have the same daddy and everything and they got married as soon as they legally could and are still together and doing great. They make a beautiful family. She was a very intelligent girl and stepped up to the plate.
I'm not saying it's right and I'm not trying to judge either but the chances of a fairy tale ending to that is slim to none. It's sad but true. Then you have these young young girls that don't even know how to put the diaper on the baby. There is a good and bad to everything.
That being said, I will say congrats to any young mother that is taking responsibility for her actions and keeping the baby and is also going to finish school. That takes guts. Congrats are in order in a situation like that.
Taking the easy route out is a different story. I personally think abortion should be used for rape victims and women with serious medical conditions. It's sickening to think how many innocent babies die each year because of teenage sex. It really makes you wonder where these kids parents are.
I have two boys and my husband and I are fixing to go for number three. I want a little girl but I don't really care as long as my baby is healthy.
There is no way I would let my child go somewhere in todays' world without knowing exactly what they are doing at a young age like that. I hope to raise my children to have more respect for themselves than that.
Sex is meant for adults because it brings in the possibility of pregnancy and adult responsibility is needed to handle that situation. And there are some young mothers that are very responsible at a young age but there are too many that are not.

Wow, well first of all. I wanted to say that I know that I have asked dumb questions on here before, but I read her question that she wrote the young one, and thats really nice that you think they are dumb questions. I don't think they are dumb questions. When you are un sure of things that is what this website is for. So I think that she has every right to even come on here and ask ANY kind of quesiton that she would like to. If you don't like her questions then don't answer them. I have a friend that had a baby at 15, and she has been working since she was 14. She can support her baby and I am very glad that she has a baby. She has such a beautiful family. She has also finished high school at the age of 16. So I think it is how mature they are, that is when it's a problem. I really don't think that you need to even call anyone a moron. I'm sure if she was 16 and asking if she should get an abortion, I'm sure that you would say no don't get an abortion. Don't kill the baby because you made a bad choice.-- Right!! I think that you should mind your own business and don't critize anyones family or anyone on here. When I have questions about my newborn, I ask on here first. I know that there are many great mothers on here, and I know they have been through everything and anything I might have questions about. I will always ask before I call doctors or hospitals, unless I know something is really bad. I am only 19, I still believe that I am a child in many ways still. I am very young but I can take care of my baby!
I feel that you don't have any place to critize anyones life, or family once again!

I would much rather hear a stupid question from a young mother than a question on where to get an abortion from a pregnant mother. It really frustrates me the lack of education you hear on here- "I'm 15, already have 2 kids, slept with a couple of guys without using protection and I'm now 14 weeks pregnant. Is it too late for the morning after pill? Where can I get an abortion?" Are parents not teaching their kids about abstinence, birth control and other common sense 101 subjects these days?

There is no use telling them not to have sex to begin with because the damage is already done. Since they already have the baby, if we congratulate them and give them some confidence, maybe they won't kill their baby by doing something stupid like not knowing when to call or go to the doctor. At least they are trying by asking questions for the best interest of their child. If they are put down when they ask questions, maybe they won't ask anymore and their child will suffer.

These young girls need education not chastising. It's pointless telling a pregnant girl to just stop having sex because clearly she already has! It's not useful information for the future for them in dealing with being a young mother. How is telling them not to have sex going to help them cope with a young baby??! What's done is done and you just need to deal with the consequences and help as much as you can.

some human beings are indignant by ability of looking. i in my opinion does no longer hunt, the assumption of stalking a deer does not excite me. I do consume animal products nonetheless...and if i replaced into starving i could kill an animal for food. It in basic terms does not appear like a exciting element for me to do once I can circulate to the shop and purchase meat. I additionally do no longer in basic terms like the assumption of no longer killing the animal top away, and it working off into the woods and dying painfully. additionally, I also have a legal so i might desire to under no circumstances hunt anyhow. many stuff save me from looking, and that i'm cool with no longer doing it.

these kids need these "stupid" questions answered by people like us because apparently their parents aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing, or else these kids wouldn't have babies. and would you stop having sex if somebody told you to? i sure wouldn't, no matter what age i am.

I am hearing you and can understand your frustration from one mother to another, but reread what you wrote...some pretty hurtful things to say to a 16 year old....why be so mean? Who would want to intentionally hurt a new young mother?
Remember when you were 16 and thought you knew everything......I'm sure folks thought I was stupid too at some point.....thats why we call em juveniles
Be Sweet if you can, obviously she is not trying to hurt her baby and is reaching out.Maybe she has no one else to ask in person...or is asking online so no one judges her...well too late for that.......
