when my children were younger I waited till at least a year to introduce them to milk. I would check with your pediatrition and as long as they have no allergies it should be fine

You want to wait until a year if possible. If you are that anxious though you should NOT give 2%...You should start with Whole milk(red cap). The baby needs the fat in the milk for brain development, which is very rapid until age 2.
As far as giving milk early. More than likely she would be fine, but there is still a change for a milk allergy. They used to start babies on cows milk at 6 months old back 25-30 years ago.

It is best to continue formula until your daughter turns one. Cow's milk does not have the same nutrients as formula does. Even though 10 months is considered close to 12 months, those extra 2 months on formula can really make a difference in a child's nutritional state. If you need proof that formula is better, pick up the can of formula and compare the ingredients to milk. Milk has a fraction of the nutrients as found in formula.
When your daughter turns one, start slowly with Regular Whole milk and see how she reacts. For example give her a couple of ounces once a day for a few days and see if she can handle it. If you give her a lot of milk at once, especially since she was on a soy based formula, her stomach may cramp or she can have diarrhea. It may take her stomach a little bit longer to adjust to the lactose in cows milk. More than likely she will be fine with regular milk. Most babies that I saw adjusted without problems. If your baby has true milk allergy, then you should avoid milk and all milk based products until she outgrows the allergy.
Whole Milk needs to be given to her until she turns two. Whole milk has more calories and more fat than 2%. Fat is vital for proper brain development and your daughter will also need the additional calories for growth.
I hope this helps clarify your question. Best of luck to you and your daughter.

NO. Babies should not have any real milk until they are at least a year old. They can't digest it right. And aside from that, why is she on prosobee? Does she have problems with regular formula? If so then regular milk might mess her up even worse. She may need soy milk when she gets to the appropriate age.

First, you should be feeding WHOLE MILK, not 2%, from what I've read (maybe others can chime in if this is true or not).
It may not have any real side effects that you can attribute to the milk, but its always better to follow established practices that have been proven to help development/growth. If you must, especially because of finances, consider only replacing one bottle/cup each day insteaed of all of it, and slowly transitioning over the course of 2 months, so she IS a year by the time its 100% cow's milk.

There is a magic switch in a baby that flips on their first birthday and allows them to digest cow's milk. At least, that's what some people would have you believe. You can try it and if it doesn't go well, wait another month or two. You really should be giving her whole milk though. The extra calories are good and fat is good for brain development.

Baby's digestives systems are immature at 10 month and proteins found in cows milk can cause stomach problems and milk allergy's if introduced before a year. Even at a year when you introduce milk make sure its full fat homogenized milk. Babies need the extra fat still. You can start 2% at 2years.

You should be giving her whole milk for the first 2 years. She needs all the benefits of the calories (and yes, the fat) of whole milk. Most doctors will tell you that. I waited until right around my daughter's first birthday to start her on milk. Best of luck!

Well for one, prosobee is SOY infant formula. If your baby is on this its probably because she cannot digest milk. Why would you want to give your baby milk if she is on soy now? Think this through mama and ask your baby's doctor
Good luck

You should not be giving your child regular milk until they are 1 year old. They digestive systems are not developed enough to handle it yet. Also, introducing any kind of food to early could cause your child to develop food allergies.
When you do decide to introduce regular milk it should be whole milk until they are atleast 2 because their growing bodies need the extra fat.

It is suggested that you wait until a child is at least a year old before you give them cow's milk. At the very least, discuss this with your baby's pediatrician and see what he or she has to say before you decide to do it. I would trust the advice given by the doctor.
