Hi Mom! My son is 1 1/2 and he didn't sleep through the night (6 strait hours) until he was about 10 months old. The whole time taking approx. 3 bottles a night. At 7 months I would be trying to feed her more infant foods during the day and start to limit the bottle to certain times during the day. This schedual will alow her to know that food fills the tummy too and maybe even start to give up the bottle, (my son gave up his bottle at about 12 months old on his own...he wanted those bananas) Plus, the jar foods stay in the stomach longer. So, if you try to give her some infant cereal about 1 1/2 hours before bed then a bottle to put her to sleep maybe her belly will stay full a little longer and give you 4 hours to sleep instead of 2. But maybe it has something to do with the silence. I also use a lullibys cd that has no words just the instrumentals, plus a small night-light. Many different things could be wakeing her up. My doctor told me to just go into his room and pat him on the back to put his to sleep...YEAH RIGHT!!! LOL that would always just make it worse.

The concepts I've learned from BabyWise has held true for my infant daughter. The sleeptime concept is that at 6 months of age, a baby can take 1 1/2 to 2 hour naps, twice a day, with a catnap in the afternoon. If my baby woke earlier than this amount of time, then I would let her put herself back to sleep. They are beginning to get very curious at this age and are awakened by things that wouldn't have previously stirred them. Once my baby was able to put herself back to sleep during the day naps, she was also able to put herself back to sleep in the middle of the night. I hope this helps!

Can you cut back to 2 naps everyday? We start our day at 7am, nap at 10:30 and 3:30, and bed at 8ish. He's been sleeping through the night for quite some time now. Good luck.

Seperation rigidity. attempt putting her to sleep an hour or so later than time-honored, she could stay extra sleeping till 5 or 6, possibly a extra managable time for you. She may well be dealing with a growth spurt, and waking up a sprint hungry. ALL my little ones went via this in some unspecified time interior the destiny, between 6 months and twelve months. ALL my little ones have slept in out mattress for the period of the tough cases, and via 18 months, they have been all back of their very own beds, sleeping for the period of the nighttime.

My son is 6.5 months and I am having the same prob, but some nights are better than others, last night was bad again, but what to do? I really don't want to do the cry it out thing, but I do wait 10 min b4 I go into his room and calm him and sometimes he goes right back down with out a prob. and I still feed him and he still downs a 5 once bottle. I guess we have to hope for the best and have patience, but it would be a good idea to bathe him b4 bed if you don't do that already.

Hi there! Any sleeping questions I would suggest visiting Dr. Hull's website and ordering his video. My 6 month old son was having difficulty going to sleep at night and then sleeping through the night and I decided to purchase his video. It arrived within 3 days and I immediately watched it. It was very helpful, my only regret was not finding out about him sooner. Not only does he tell you exactly what to do step by step but he will also answer your emails very quickly. What pediatrician do you know who will give out their email and will answer your questions that day? The video was only $30.90 including shipping and handling and it was worth way more. Here is a link to his website: http://www.drhull.com/index.html I wish you the best of luck with the sleeping problems = )

My doctor suggested to me that if the baby wakes up let him cry for between a half an hour to 45 minutes. He should fall back asleep on his own. He is waking up out of habit now. Unless he has slept for about 7-8 hours he should not need to get up. It might get hard to do, but let him cry and in about a week he should sleep a full 7-8 hours straight through at night. mine now does at 7 1/2 months unless he is sick.
