If you watch carefully, the pulsations are in sync with his respirations. They are most easily noticed when he is quiet.
It is quite normal. The fontanelle, or soft spot, will close between 9 -18 months of age.

It happens with my baby too and I believe it is perfectly normal. But weird to see huh? Remember that the soft spot on his head is the spot of his skull that is open. There is no bone there. So the only thing sperating his brain from the outside world is a thin, (but very strong) piece of tissue, called the dura mater, and skin on his head.

Its normal. The baby's skull hasn't harden yet so be careful and don't press on the soft spot. Doctors told me that can be really dangerous to the baby. By one years old it will fully close up.

Yes this is normal. It is also normal for it to sink in and pulse, this usually starts to happen when the baby starts to sit up and become mobile. I asked my doctor about this too, with my first child weirded me out!
