YES!!!!!!!! But.....go check it out and talk to the workers there. Just pop in so you can see what it's really like and ask to sched an appointment. If they are focused around infants there must be a reason. Maybe they feel that by limiting care to infants they can provide better care. Maybe having a larger age range makes them feel as if they would not have the attention to spend. The only thing I would be a little fuzzy with would be the why. But that is easily fixed by asking. Don't listen to people who say you HAVE to be a stay at home mom........Your question was not should I stay home, it was what do you think about this childcare option. I say check it out and see. Not everyone can work nights and not everyone is in a 2 person family, and not everyone has family waiting to babysit. NEVER feel bad for providing for you family. Good luck to you guys!!

It seems to me that if you have to do the childcare route, its best to put them where they specialize in babies and not all ages... as long as there are enough people there... like 1 for every 3 kids.

No. My son was a preemie (Almost 3 months early) and I would never put him in any type of daycare. It is not worth the risk to his health. Also, the facility would have to have so many workers to so many children. There is a daycare/preschool in my town that my step-daughter had applied to work at and they have a separate room for infants up to one year, and they had 10 babies and only 2 workers. There we babies left crying in the cribs, babies with bottles propped up on blankets, babies that smelled poopy for a while, etc. 2 people is not enough for that many babies.

I would investigate the facility, see how long they have been in business, spend some time there with the baby to see how they handle it, and decide if you are ready to leave your baby in the care of someone else.

My cousin is 18 months now. He went to childcare three times and came home with gastro each time. Luckily I can stay home with my girl.

A baby should be with its mother. Period. I work nights so I can be home with my kids during the day. It's possible - you just have to make it happen.
