Baby Girl is due the beginning of October so the winter will be setting in soon after. It's my first, but I know babies are messy and don't need many "going out oufits" but I don't really know what quantity I need of these things. I have a "bunting suit" or "snow suit/jacket thing."

How many nice outfits? (sweater/pant combo w/ hat etc)
How many casual outfits? (fleece hoodie/pant combo etc)
How many onesies?
How many socks?
How many sleeping outfits?
How many bibs?

For 0-3, 3-6 and 6-9???

Babies also get their clothes really dirty with things that need to be washed right away (spit-up, pee, poop), so you'll probably be doing laundry every day.

It depends how often you go out. Most moms don't like to expose their new babies to outside germs, so one or two nice outfits are probably enough -- and you may be given those.

If you feed the baby in the fleece hoodie/pants, I'd say get six sets. If it's only for going out, then three should do you.

You can never have too many onesies, though! I'd say six to 10 sets of those per each age.

Socks -- six sets. They don't tend to get dirty, but they do get lost.

Pajamas -- six again. You could possibly get by with four, though.

Bibs. Depends on the baby. While breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, maybe six soft bibs. Once they start eating solids at about six months, you'll want to experiment with the vinyl ones. But at six months, you won't be housebound, so you can get them one at time, see if you like them, and buy more as needed.

Be sure to note where you bought the clothes, and then you can send someone out to buy more for you if you don't have enough.

My humble opinion. I've got two girls.

BTW, you might want to wait to buy most of the stuff after the baby is born -- especially the older stuff. Different colors look great on different babies, and you won't really know until she arrives. Just get the bare minimum for now. Also, look into hand-me-downs. They grow so fast, you may only use the 0-3 stuff a few times.

You will need about 7 nice outfits, 6 casual outfits, 10 onesies, 10 socks, 14 sleepers, 10 bibs. This is an estimate just make sure whatever your baby will be in the most is what you need the most of which will probably be sleepers once your baby is a little older 3-6 you will need a little more of the nice and casual don't blow all your money on clothes the baby will never wear you can use that money elsewhere. Remember when the baby is first born you won't be going alot of places especially in the begining of flu season.

Firstly it would depend on the money you have available. If that isn't an issue than I would buy a dozen of the most basic items like singlets, bibs and socks. I'd buy a couple of beanies that have enough room to grow in, same with the socks and singlets. As for the all in one's. I'd buy at least a dozen, like I said, provided money isn't a concern. You can get some really super cute all in one's now, especially for girls. They are defintely good enough to go out in. I wouldn't bother too much with special outfits unless your sure to be attending a wedding or some such event in the near future. Your little girl will be much more comfortable in the all in one's than seperates and you'll be happier too because you won't have to keep pulling the jumper's down and re-tucking in the singlets. :) lol

The all in one's are fine for sleeping in too. You can socks and booties over the top of them and you can even layer a singlet with a short sleeved legless all in one when it's really cold. Some day's will just be shockers and changing outfits just so she can go to bed will be the last thing on your mind! lol

With the bibs I'd only use the one's with the velcro tabs at the back. I don't if they still have them where you are but we can still by the tie up one's and I don't trust them personally.

Don't forget to stock up on other things too. Most first time Mum's forget and it's not hard to do. Grab lots of nappies if your going for disposable. Wipes as well if your going to use them. You can often get both of these in bulk lots and its well worth the money. If your going to breastfeed then get a ton of nursing pads...lol...I know that sounds like a lot but in those first few weeks when little one is getting her feeding routine sorted out you will leak like seive! lol Even further down the line you'll still leak and it can be most embaressing if your in public and you suddenly get two big wet circles on your top and it just doesn't wash out with plain water, I've tried! lol

Tissues as well for wiping up all sorts of spills and dribbles from both you and baby. :)

I hope all this rambling is some sort of help for you. Don't worry if you don't have it all organised by the time she arrives, you'll get it all sorted out in the end. :)

Best of luck to you, girls are so much fun and who doesn't love dressing up a little baby girl? lol
