Actually, because you have a cold, it is BETTER that you breastfeed. the bacteria from a cold can be transmitted via air/breathing even easier than through your milk. However, your body and MATURE immune system will be working hard producing antibodies to fight the cold-- and these antibodies then pass through the milk to your baby, so that she can more easily combat the cold.

Keep breastfeeding!

No I dont think you will get the baby sick. I went into labor in the middle of a bad cold. I nursed her 30 minutes after she came out. 2 months later now I cant get her off me. LOL

Probably not as long as you keep breastfeeding. Your passing on your antibodies by breastfeeding her and preventing her from getting your cold.

I was breastfeeding when I got a sore throat when my daughter was only 3 weeks old. I was so scared she would get it but she never did!!!!

Probably not. Breastfeeding is the very best thing you can do for immunity. My doc said with that, and that age, they are "like tanks" Just keep up the handwashing.

Breastfeeding, no. But all the cuddles, kisses, and day to day contact just might. Becareful and wash your hands often, and she should be okay. And watch what meds you are taking, too.

same thing happened to me. The doc. said most likely not because your breastmilk has so many antibodies. Just be sure and wash your hands alot. You should also watch any medications your taking to make sure they won't hurt your baby.

i had flu when i had my son - we kept breastfeeding through that and a couple of other colds since then - he's never caught them from me even though we have 'pyjama days' where we cuddle up and nurse in bed all day ( it's fab!)

Just make sure you keep up your own fluids...

sturdy for you, i think.. i could letting little quantities out contained in the bathe or with a pump until eventually your no longer in soreness and its somewhat extra bearable. Take some Tylenol to assist with lots of the soreness too.
