Of course I'm not going to spank her. She does her little snap fits when she wants something and she gets all bent (literally) out of shape. I pick her up and put her in her playpen and tell her to be a good girl, firmly, "You are not being a good girl!" Seems like there are some things out there that work effectively. Help! (thank you!)

p.s. she's smart. she says, "good" and "girl" and understands many words, so my telling her that does sink in I think....

She is doing her job in trying to control your behavior with her hissy fits. Don't acknowledge them. I agree on the distraction technique. Change what is at issue. put on her favorite movie/program. Put on some music. Speak softly & calmly. Make the fit a non-issue. Don't reward bad behavior.

Try distracting her with something else if you don't want to spank. Give her one of her favorite toys and see if that gets her mind elsewhere.

Just try to distract her. She really is too young at this point for any type of "discipline" to work.

Let her cry it out. Put her in the play pen when she's having them and walk away.
