My son is now 1 and he was hospitalized at 6 months old for blood in his stool. The doctor put him on Alimentum which he has had no problems with but now that he is 1, I have been trying to get him on cow's milk. I first tried to give him 3 parts formula to 1 part milk but he threw up(little bit) after an hour so I stopped for a while. When I took him to his own pediatrician, she told me not to mix them together but to give him a little bit at a time. So I gave him 2 oz milk which he drank, no problem and another 2 oz bottle about 2 hours later, no problem. But then about 1/2 hr later, I was out of the house and had no milk so I gave him his formula and about 2 mins later, he threw up a lot and it looked like yogurt! I think the doctor doesn't know what she is talking about!
Does any have any suggestions, maybe another type of milk will settle better in his stomach?

Well, the problem has to be the milk, not the formula because everytime I switch him back to the formula, he has no problems. If I try soy or rice milk, how much should i start him off on, any schedule pattern recommended?

i had 2 nephews on the stuff, and it the reason for it was that they were highly allergic to a lot of other formulas. Maybe you should try soy milk for now. My son threw up all the milk we gave him for the first bit and we changed him to soy milk until he was between 18 months and 2 years old, apparently he grew out of the sensitivity. hope everything goes well.

Obviously he can't handle the formula.Stick with the milk and make sure you have some with you wherever you go in case he needs it.
Why is his doctor wrong? She told you to give him a little at a time and it worked. You got him sick by giving him the formula, not the doctor, unless I'm misunderstanding something here.
Anywya,I hope your baby is doing well.

I'd give him rice milk or soy milk instead of cow's milk. Or, try lactaid--it's lactose free milk. That may help, since he can have the alimentum which is cow's milk based.

It is time to take your child off formula now.
He is too old for it.
Why are you giving him so much milk and formula?
Apple juice. Milk is considered a food. You have to cool it with the feeding.

Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved

it incredibly is totally accessible. look, considering the fact which you're breastfeeding, solids are not necessary, they are non-compulsory for various greater months, whilst much as twelve in case you opt for. i does not feed cereal, it incredibly is processed crap in a container, and is merely as constipating as different solids. you do not could desire to provide him something for constipation, you in hassle-free terms could desire to nurse him greater (breastmilk has a organic laxative.) do not play around together with his gadget by ability of offering him fruit juices, prunes, water, suppositories, all you may desire to do it nurse him greater (wow, mom nature had it suitable, bypass parent.) i could hear on your son. His physique is telling you he isn't waiting. i does not supply lower back till he makes a decision to assist himself to solids in yet another month or 2. i'm going to bypass away you a link that explains greater approximately combating constipation in little ones after solids (you do not eliminate the administration from the toddler.) Your milk continues to be the perfect nutrition, not the rest compares.
