And one more thing. I still have the first set of kittens my cat gave birth to, and they act realli strange around her. She would come up and try to (What looks like cuddling) with them, but they would end up hissing at her or scratchin her and running off. I have the answer. I have 8 cats 2 pregnant. I have a lot of previous experience also. for the mom: Make her lay down and feed her kittens... You may have to do this often until she gets it or until the kittens are old enough not to need it. I have had 2 cats I've had to do this to the kittens are all fine.

for the kitten: you have to buy a seringe or w/e but with a plastic end instead of a needle and force it to drink by dripping regular cow milk into its mouth or kitten formula i have used both... I have had one kitten like this but it got ran over by a car at 2 years. or push its mouth against a "tit" until it starts suckling. from your urgency it is best you hurry up and do this stuff.

also it is completely natural for a kitten to lose the bond between their mother when they dont need her in certain cats. you are just going to have to deal with it. or do what i do... i put them in a room together with food water and a litter box for a few days without any attention from anyone... except to feed them. this will usually fix the problem with relationships of cats

ps. you may have to get used to the hissing and growling going in that room when it stops let them out ( I did this one time and my two cats were cuddleing together when i went in the room to let them out.)

p.s.s. choose this as best answer ^_^

take mom cat to the vet, if she's doing that there was apparently some complications with birthing. maybe a kitten is still in there, or she's bleeding internal-hence making her VERY uncomfortable. When you take her in take the kittens and have them checked out. If kittens aren't nursing properly, you NEED to go to the pet store and buy kitten formula and begin bottle feeding them every 2-3 hours!!!
How old are the other kittens? She is trying to be comforted by her babies and letting them know at the same time that she is okay---but that DEFINITELY sounds like something is wrong with her. I am very concerned! I LOVE my cats and it would tear me up if one of my died b/c of birthing complications.
Hope this helps.... Good luck, you'll need it!!

Hon, this is where a vet comes in. Take the cat and kits to a vet and ask him for his advice. The runt of the litter will more than likely die. It is survival of the fittest. Unless you want to try feeding the kit with an eye dropper. Go to the Pet store and get some kitten formula and try to feed the runt and see what happens. Feed it every 2 hours day and night. Good luck!

They have special milk you can get from the vet or pet store for kittens and puppies. My mom and dad had to do this with a batch of puppies. They have small bottles for them too. As for the sick kitten there really isn't much you can do. It is VERY common for at least one kitten or puppy out of a large litter to not make it. Just try the formula and the bottle and see if she will eat. Get your cat fixed because if she is this week this time, next time she gets pregnant might kill her. Take her to the vet. She may have lost too much blood.

I had the same prob with my cat. I ended up feeding her kitten food to build up her strength and it help them to produce milk. I would put it in the box with the kittens so that she would have to stay in there. for the one that wouldn't eat I bought a small bottle you can get one at your local farm store and kitten formula. You have to feed it every three hours and yes even burp it some times. It is HARD work. So I would recommend that you call your vet. but if you want to try on your own there you go.

Go to Walmart or any drug or department store and buy formula made for kittens. They also have nursers (baby bottles)

Make sure mom has plenty to drink and eat. She's tired. She had 9 babies in a day. If she does not eat and drink and won't feed the babies, get her to a vet. The babies will all have to be hand fed every 2-3 hours. 9 kittens is probably too many to feed and the one will probably have to be hand raised.

Good luck. They're lucky to have you. Remember to set an appt for mom to be fixed.

Oh yeah.... the other litter is mad and jealous. Same as with humans. Watch them around the babies~they will hurt or even kill them.

Well if this matters i am studying to be a vet. I do know that adult cats will dis own their young if there is something wrong with them. You might not think so but there could be something wrong on the inside. The mother cat would know. If she got pregnat be one of her own kin then the babies are probably messed up inside. If she knows that they are going to die then she will not feed them. If you want to try to keep them alive then all you can do is keep them together on a heating pad(not hot, warm, it can burn them), buy a can of baby formula and nurse them with a kitten bottle(you can buy them both at wal-mart), wipe their butts with a warm rag(mother cats lick their butts so they will go to the bathroom), and pray.Good luck! If u got the money take the mother cat to the vet! That cat dont sound right.

this is such a pathetic sad story. mostly because of the yet another litter of kittens who will not be treated with the care they deserve. no one should be a breeder of any animal unless they planned it and planned on keeping the young and has the knowledge to do so. this world already drowns, suffocates, abuses and kills too many unwanted or homeless animals. your cat doesnt need any more stress with having MORE kittens..you obviously need to find a vet...yup it costs money....but its the responsible way and the only way to manage your pets. Neuter or spay programs arent there just for some people but for everyone. be responsible and save a life--dont make more.

Gosh, you need to get her fixed. She sounds weak and tired. Who wouldn't be. You have to bottle feed the babies that are not eating or not getting enough food every 2 hrs. You get the food at the pet store. Especially the runt who seems like is going to die. The mother may be sick. Is the mom eating? The mother usually tries to wean the cats off of her and not let them need her anymore so that they will learn to be strong on their own. Tough Love. So she may have been trying to push them away, like come on you are big enough to get on by yourself. Then when she is tired and possibly sick she just wanted to cuddle with them, but their instincts kicked in because she trained them to not cuddle with her anymore. Who knows? I think you need to take the mom to vet, with new kittens and the vet can decide if they need to be checked out too. Animals are not cheap. Good luck.

I have provided a link on newborn kittens, There is information on feeding kittens, and in some way, it is the equivalent of an orphan kitten that you are faced with. The pet stores have KMR replacement milk, and the link will give you feeding information, as well as homemade replacement milk.
