Hi. I have a 8 month old boy and I came to India to be with my family when he was 2.5 months old. After 5 wonderful months I am going back to the US where I live with my husband. Since I had SO much help in India....I am stressed about going back to no help and lonliness because I dont have a lot of friends there. My husband works and I worry about coping with baby alone. Also, my baby is so used to people around him I feel almost sorry for him because there will be no familiar faces back in US. Not to mention the crazy journey of 20 hours to get there. Anyone out there who can give me some advice?

I have heard of people throwing babies in pools and they learn how to automatically, but I cant imagine doing that with my 2 month old. Is that true and what kind of swimming experiences do you have with your youngsters.

Every time I watch a show where there's a woman giving birth at home they say she needs hot water or there's always a bucket of water around.

This is to all of the great answers that I received regarding my 6 mth old getting his shots. He is doing better and he was just cranky and I overracted. To all the rude people I was not talking to you idiots, if you do not have anything good to say don't answer the questions retards.. Someone said why am I on my computer instead of taking my son to the ER.. If it was that serious I would have. You do not take a baby to an emergency room unless there is an emergency.

I did get some great answers and again I think you mothers...

God bless!!!!!

He just got his shots today and I forgot to give him tylenol before he got his shots. I gave it to him afterwards, but he is still in a lot of pain and he is crying hysterically. I tried picking him up, that didn't work. I even put the ice pack on his legs but I made sure I used a washcloth so that it would not be so cold he screamed even more. I checked his temperature and he does not have a fever. I really do not know what to do.. Should I take him to the ER? He is driving me nuts, I am being very patient with him because I understand that he is in pain. Do anyone know of anything else that I can do to help him ease the pain?

Thank you for responding...

Theres alot of people that want to be at my babys birth, and some of them aren't taking no for an answer. So, how can i give birth with a lot of people being around me without letting them see anything? Like what would be best, water birth, ceceraen, etc? I don't want a lot of people seeing me down there so how can i give birth and minimize how much they will see???

My baby is a terror. I love him but all's he does is scream if I am not holding him constantly, and I mean constantly. I have to hold him while going to the bathroom, when he goes to sleep. The instant I put him down, even if seemingly in a dead sleep, he will wake up screaching like someone just branded him. He was diagnosed with acid reflux when he was 3 weeks old and the doctor recommended that I hold him upright after each feeding, and to hold him upright when he slept, (he had a severe case of acid reflux.) He has been fine for the last 3 months no symptoms and he is off the medicine completely, but now when I put him down he just screams. I was told to just let him cry it out, and so far everyday I lay him in his crib and let him scream, the longest I let it go on for was 2 hours, after that I thought it was just abuse. Does anyone have any suggestions for this mother at her wits end. I love him but he is very trying and I am starting to lose patience with him. Please help

It started when he was 15 wks I thought it was a cold so I let it go for a few days Then I decided to take him to the DR they assumed it was acid reflux b/c he like cerael in all his bottles so they put him on med &sent us home few days later it wasnt getting any better so we went back to DR they changed his formula a few times along with meds So they had me take him to the ER at AI dupont they said he was fine & sent us home So mean while we are in & out of DR doing weight checks & trying to find out whats wrong Back to the ER for dehydration so they put him on an IV & did a Gastric Emptying Scan found out his stomach isnt empty right so now hes on more meds Mean while his weight is going up and down for the past month&1/2 Then AI decided to put him on feeding tube cuz he still wont eat and put a camera down his throat and found nothing what so ever wrong so I decided to try whole milk and he drinks that lil better then he does formula &does some babyfood but he is still not eating..
