Please don't stress about the crawling. Some children never crawl and crawling is not even considered a developmental milestone. My daughter didn't crawl until 10 months and my son never crawled at all. He scooted around on his bottom.

He sounds very normal, and no, you did not spoil him.
My son spent a few weeks in frustration trying to crawl before he was able to. I bought one of those cheap balls from the grocery store, got home, put them both on the floor, and off he went.
Anyway, it just takes time, 8mths is still well within the range of normal for learning to crawl. Enjoy these last few days before he's mobile...he'll be getting into everything in no time!

Put him on his knees and hold your hands behind his feet so when he kicks it will make him move. He'll only fall on his face a few times. They learn quick. How adorable. Some don't crawl or walk until they are a year old. Not to worry - he'll be fine.

Well things such as crawling and walking are something that really must come in time. some may learn fast some slower then others. Give him time and he will get the erg's to explore and then he will think "wow i half to find a way to get over there!" and that will motivate him =D best of luck!

My son never crawled. He started walking at 10 months. Don't worry - not all babies crawl. I don't think it's anything for you to worry about.

He will crawl when he wants to mom. Some babies dont crawl at all, this isnt considered a huge deal to most doctors either, its when they dont walk, talk and interact that doctors get worried.

Give him toys that he has to reach for! Put them just out of his reach.

Don't rush him tho - many babies don't crawl until 9 or 10 months. Besides they grow up so fast already!! Don't rush it.

he may not like it, but you need to give him tummy time. i have a friend whose son freaked out during tummy time for ages. finally he was okay with it and walked before a year still. your son's going at his own pace, but you need to give him time on his tummy, he needs to develop those muscles before he can use them to crawl.
