So my 11 month old always has sleep problems. Last week he was waking up too early. Now he won't take good naps. I have been bad that I used to rock him to sleep for naps (it worked and was the best for both) but then he went to sleep on his own at night. Now when I take him up for his nap and start the routine (with his bedtime book) he tries to get out of my arms and screams and cries. It is really hard to deal with. So I decided that I will let him cry it out at naps now (I go in every 20 min) - it is about time. I started with his afternoon nap yesterday and it took 50 min and then only took a 30 min nap. Now he has been crying that long today and still hasn't gone to sleep. This is so difficult but I really need him sleeping better. It is getting frustrating.

More info....I do still breastfeed, he has a nap schedule and a go to sleep schedule and consistent wake up time. Why is he crying for so long....at night he usually goes to sleep within 20 min.

My daughter is 10mths old and I cant get her to sleep well during the night. She has been sleeping in her crib in her room since she was 3 mths old but she has never been a good sleeper. She wakes me up frequently in the night for no apparent reason she just wants to be held by me. Even when my husband gets up with her the crying escalades to screaming until I come get her. Last night she went to bed at 8:00 as usual but kept getting up every 20-30 min. I would lay her back down and she would get back up. This went on until 3:00 am until finaly she is too exausted to continue. I have tried everything, the last thing left is to let her sleep with us and give up what little bit of intimacy we have. Sometimes she only wakes up once in the night but i've notices that she only has these good nights after she has had about 3-4 bad night. So really she is only sleeping when she has no choice but to recuperate and then it starts all over. Im discouraged, tired and I feel im failing, help !

was just wondering if anyone else who is a stay at home mum has felt or been made to feel less important or like they are lazy? I have just had my first baby and decided that as we can afford to, i would stay home and raise my child myself.
I used to work in childcare and have seen good and bad places and dont see the point in paying for someone to look after my baby while i look after somone elses.
I feel it was my decision (and my husbands) to have a baby and so my responsibility to raise him, but sometimes when people ask "what do you do for a living?" i feel they look down on me when i say a stay at home mum.
As far as i am concerned i am doing the best job and most importnat in my life, but have no problems with other mums going to work, you need to do what you feel is right for you.
But was just wondering if anyone else has felt like i do, also if you breastfeed/breastfed how comfortable were you doing it in public?

About a week ago, I changed my 6 week old's formula to Good Start. He started off on Enfamil, and then Enfamil Gentleease. He tends to fussy and gassy, so I am trying to find a formula that is the best for him.. Good Start actually seems to be working, except for one thing.. His poop is now a very dark color, almost black! Is this normal? Sometimes it even looks charcoal grey... i know that it happened when we switched him to Good Start.. Is this the reason?

I heard on a show that you shouldn't give babies tap water. I assume it means babies under 1 year, as the baby talked about was 10 months. Is this true, or not?
