The major flow should slow down or stop by at least a month. But could still produce a drop here or there for up to 6 months.

I still have milk and I haven't nursed for 4 years. The doctors have checked my prolactin 3 times--normal. One doctor said I could continue to produce milk until menopause.

well my experience was several weeks to a month...your soreness will depend on how quickly you weaned your baby...if it was gradual it is easier...but if you stopped abruptly you will be sore and engorged..you could express a little milk by hand to relieve the pressure...but you will dry up...good luck
