I am wondering what foods you are supposed to avoid while beastfeeding. I have heard several different things, so I am really wanting to hear personal experiences with it, not just something you've read somewhere.

For example, I've heard to avoid chocolate. Other people said chocolate won't hurt. I ate chocolate cake last night, and my baby was fussy all day. Has anyone else figured out things that they couldn't eat while breastfeeding?

Some people tell me that a newborn needs to be waken up every few hours to be fed, others say let the baby sleep and wake up to feed when he/she is hungry.
What is your advice based on your experience?

Hi again,
my 7 and a half month old boy will not go to sleep by himself in the cot. We wrap him in a cot sheet as per some advice from our parenting helpline, and put him into his cot awake. This used to work, but now it doesn't anymore. He will kick himself out of the wrap and sing and play to keep himself awake. He ends up the other way around in his cot and playing with the sheets. When we put him to sleep on us, he falls asleep fine, but as soon as we put him in his cot he wakes up and kicks and plays again...He is definitely tired, but I can't seem to make him fall asleep in his cot anymore. I need help because I don't want us to fall into the habit of putting him to sleep on us. Any suggestions???

This is more a vent, but also a 'what do I do with him' question.

My son sleeps through the night and gets up at about 8. My husband is getting off work at that time and feeds/changes him for me and gets me up and goes to bed. I don't drive (personal reasons) so I'm home all day/week with him with my hubby sleeping. My son is six months now and he's VERY needy and cries to be held. I can't stand to just let him cry so I end up wasting the entire day away holding him, singing, reading, bathing, feeding, etc. etc (I love it though) but when my husband gets up and sees that the house isn't spotless or that I haven't cooked (I never know when he's going to get up and he fights with me if I try to wake him to eat) he gets pissed off and starts an arguement, almost every night. I'm so sick of this crap. I take very good care of our son with no help from him, and he gets pissed if I dn't manage to get it all done. I can't wear him in a sling b/c I have back probs. so I literally have to hold

My daughter is 14 months old and fusses over everything. I swear she's been crying non stop since day 1! People told me she'd get over it by the time she was a few months old, but she still wants constant attention and throws temper tantrums when i do something she doesn't agree with e.g. - diaper changes. it's not like i spoil her, most times i have to just let her cry, but it goes on all day if i let it. what could it be? what should i do?...help!

Do you ever miss your old life. Before the baby. Or get tired of playing with your baby, doing the same old thing. I love my son. He just never seems content. He will be 5 months old this coming Sat. I play with him alot but some mornings when i hear him in the monitor i let out a big sigh wondering what his mood is going to be like today. I think to myself "I dont want to play with him". Is that awful?

Is this normal? how long does it last? the doctor said the she might have a fever and may be fussy, but she is crying out real loud! Any advice will be apprciated.

Thanks,

Hi all,
I have a 7 and a half month old boy who seems to have been teething for a couple of months, but I can't see any teeth yet. He drools a lot and wants to chew everything, he doesn't seem to have any pain or swollen gums though. How long does the process of "teething" take?
Thankyou!

Does anyone know how much formula the NY WIC program will provide for a 1 month old baby?

I'm on WIC and recieved the breastfeeding package last month, but my son is allergic to cow's milk, and I'm seriously considering giving up breastfeeding because I can't keep avoiding cow's milk myself. I need to know if I can afford to make the switch to formula.

If you don't know about NYS or the age, please share what you do know about older infants or your local WIC program.

Thank you!
