It sounds to me like you need a break. Your child cries because she cannot tell you her feelings. Maybe you should pick up a book on signing and try to teach your baby sign language. I recommend the book by the American Pediatrics Association, Caring for your Child from birth to age 5. Parenting does not come with a manual, I should know, I have 5 kids. So your need to read read read and take parenting classes so that you can understand your baby! You form a child from birth to age 3, so whatever you teach that baby now will come back to haunt you when she is 13! Good luck! Take a break, read a book, learn something about your fussy child.

It could be a medical problem, but it sorta sounds to me like she was a fussy baby [maybe at the time it was reflux or something] and now it is a habit. Honestly, I don't know what to tell you to do here. Is there anyone you could leave her with for a day? Maybe if you left her with someone that you trusted and explained the reason why, you'd get some answers. The purpose would be to see if she cried the whole day with the other person, too. You could ask this other person to spend the day, or at least a lot of it, being really fun and amusing your daughter and keeping her occupied. If she still cries, then possibly it is a medical problem or is autism as another poster suggested. If she doesn't cry, consider that this might be a habit, and work to break the habit. You could work on this by rewarding the silences instead of the crying, and if she cries while you are doing something like changing her diaper, keep doing whatever it is she doesn't like. [I did just happen to think that if she does have reflux, it would hurt more when she was lying down, as in when she was getting her diaper changed.]

She may have sensory issues or at worst be mildly autistic {the always crying is one of the give aways}. All babies fuss, and our 19 month old can hold her own, but we have rewarded not whining. "You have to tell us what you want!" We also "explain" things. Try occupying her hands at diaper change. Ours loves to hold her comb and sometimes even runs it through her hair. Ours also gets worse when she is tired and or hungry. We ask are you hungry?! For the tired we just have to force her {gently} to sit still, and I explain you are fussy/ crying because you need a nap, just rest a while and you will feel better {and we can do X when you wake up.} Not trying to scare you with the autistic comment, we had a friend with a little boy that was like that everything was a "trauma" to him and being separated from mom or dad was a tragedy. I doubt I ever saw that kid when he wasn't crying!

Frankly I would have taken her to the doctor by now. At this age there should be a reason for crying like this. She could be in pain, and because she can't tell you she cries.

Take her to the doctor and make sure there's nothing wrong with her that's causing her pain, which would be causing her to cry.

Have you asked your doctor if she is colic? They have meds that will help her and mommy too. She'll get relief and mommy will get some sleep. Good Luck
