You have an amazingly structured schedule worked out for your baby! Most children his age are eating table food by now. It's probably time for him to start. He probably eats so much because baby food isn't enough for him anymore!

You didn't say how much he weighs but a 9 month old fitting 18 month clothes is normal. I'm a mom of 4 and grandma of 1. My suggestion is that you don't worry about it! It sounds as though he is healthy, happy and sleeping well and by the look of the quality of the food you feed him he is eating nutritiously. Relax and enjoy your baby and don't fret about measuring his food... he'll let you know if he's full and when he is hungry again. My oldest son was 26.5 lbs. at 9 months and now at 16 he is a slim 6' young man. As long as the diet includes foods from all the food groups (some you may not have introduced yet!) he'll be fine. Sounds like you're a good mom...they grow up really fast so stop measuring his food intake and enjoy him! Take care.

I don't think you are feeding him too much -he is only a baby and will self-regulate the amt of food. I think most babies that age would eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, supper, snack - so 6x/day is about right. Both my kids refused baby food when they turned 8 mos old so I could no longer keep track of what they ate, but at 9 mos old they just ate ALL DAY LONG. One day I kept track of my daughter, who was in size 2T at 9 mos old [ and she was SKINNY - just very very tall], and she would not feed herself - just ate little pieces of stuff I gave her - but one day when I kept track I spent 9 hrs 20 minutes feeding her. I can remember when she was about that age I visited my parents and the old church I used to go to, and some old friends of mine were in the nursery, and when I put her in there with them I said [seriously, but I can see now why they laughed], "She can only go about 15 minutes without eating."

Your son doesn't seem to be eating too much at all. By this age, you could try solid foods with him. I started my children on solid foods from the time they had their two bottom teeth. I was also told to keep my children on baby formula until they were a year old. At that point I gave them cups with tops to sip through to drink from. They loved it.
