she is 1 month old and she wants me to hold her all day. I can't get anything done. soon I will be returning to work and she will be at home with my grandmother. she cries the moment I put her in her bouncer or crib. I have bought different mobiles and played different lullabies but nothing seems to help. She wants to be held! how soon is too soon for this to be a case of spoilness? When it's time for daycare....they are not going to want to hold her all day either. It hurts me so bad to see her cry when I put her down, so what should I do??? HELP plz!!

My baby will not drink or nurse from a bottle for more then 5 min. at a time! It is driving me nuts because i want to make sure she is getting in enough calories. She is a very healthy happy child, i just was wondering if anyone elses child did this as well. I try to feed her in quiet room but she finds interests in anything and everything from a pillow to the ceiling fan!

I had a premie in NICU and thought they were awesome. I took that opportunity, every one of her nurses got an interview. It sounded like something I could do and would love. She passed away, at home 3 months old of "natural causes" anyways, and I even quite baby-sitting.

My first is 6 and I miss babies. Still thinking about teaching, but what is the best job working with babies? It has been 2 years and I am ready to be around itty bitties again. I have been around a few babies and feel much better now. I have days, like everyone else, but this is life and I can help other babies or mommies with itty bitties.

When I changed my 5 1/2 old's diaper I noticed a light streak of blood. He has a diaper rash and the doctor said he also had yeast. He fell asleep at 2am and slept through the night which he has started luckily. Well he did not get up at all and I was told if he doesn't then not to wake him to change his diaper or feed him unless he cries. Well when he woke up at 9am that is when I noticed the light streak of blood. Could this be from the yeast and diaper rash he has plus constipation due to change of formula or could it be because the diaper wasnt changed untill he woke up? I called his peditrician and she said she will an appointment but was full today so anyone else ever have this problem? He has had cracked skin and very little bleeding before from his diaper rash. Also what are good tips for changing him because poor guy screams on top of his lungs when I use the baby wipes. Thanks so much.

i know that if he is balding on the back of his head, it may be from rubbing it on the mattress, but my 2 month old is only balding above his ears..and he is not pulling his hairs out.

My friend just had a baby by C-section, and has had a few episodes where he stops breathing, I know that skin to skin contact helps, I read about it somewhere, but cannot find what I'm looking for now. Please, if anyone can direct me to information that I can print and take with me, so she can read it herself, it would help.

I have a 5 week old boy that we started on soy when only 5 days old. My husband believed in soy so I went with it....He began to get fussy so I switched to Enfamil gentlease. Well, this made him spit up like 3 times every feeding. It was crazy...So now I switched yet again to Enfamil AR Lipil which is supposed to be for spit up. The good news is that the spit up is way better!! He still seems fussy though...I've tried gripe water, mylacom, and little tummies. Not sure if any of them work?? Also tried colic calm w/ charcoal. This seemed to work okay but it is really hard to administer...It's like black charcoal and he spit it up everywhere everytime....NOT using it anymore! I have read about one called Colic Ease....Has anyone used this?

Please help....desperate new mommy!!!

i know that pacifiers cause some problems with the developement of their mouths but what is the best one to buy and how long can they use it before it becomes a problem? right now my 3 month old has been using the gumdrops pacifier and i tried to get her to use other ones but she wont take it. I'm afraid prolonged use of this one binky will cause her to have the deformaties. Is this binky ok to use or is there other ones that are better for her.

I have a two month old who seems very uncomfortable when left to sleep on her back. The only place she will sleep soundly is on my chest on her stomach. We NEVER let her sleep on her stomach anywhere else because of the SIDS risk, but Dr. said it's ok to let her sleep like that on my chest. She has reflux and spits up a lot when sleeping on back. I have tried elevating crib, having her sleep in swing/carseat/bouncer/boppy, and have tried a wedge foam to elevate her as well as trying thickened formulas. Nothing works. Any advice or tips?

I have been swaddling my five month old since he was born. Now, we HAVE to swaddle him because he constantly moves his hands around and keeps himself awake if we don't. We use the swaddle more like a straight-jacket now more than anything else. My doctor said it was just a "phase"... Any suggestions? Thanks!

I am about to give birth to my first child any day now and have a dilemma. My father smokes incessantly. Though he promises (and I do believe him) that he will not smoke when the baby is around, the problem lies in my parents home. He is retired an literally sits around all day long and smokes in the house, probably a pack a day or more. Their house absolutely reeks all of the time, and their walls, curtains, and furniture are actually infested with the smoke smell to the point where everything is actually dark yellow (probably the same color as his lungs!) They insist the house does not smell at all, because they are around it all of the time and dont notice it. But when I go over there, I leave with a headache everytime. When it was just me, I could deal with it , but I dont want my son around this. Is there just as much harm to infants when its not direct second hand smoke, but when the fumes are just festering in there? Any doctors and nurses with any info for me? Thanks!

I'm considering getting circumcised. I wanted to do it as an aniversery surprise for my wife because she is overseas and i will be able to heal b4 i see her again. I was just wondering what most women would think of this if their husband did it it. Does it make any sexual difference at all? Does it feel any different?

Well, our baby does not want to let us know what it is, so we have decided to just let it be a surprise. I have a daughter who is 5, but am having trouble thinking of a way to do the room so it's a boy/girl theme. I am not interested in Pooh bear as I see it too often, but what do you suggest?

I'm 22 weeks pregnant right now and I really want to strictly breastfeed my baby when he is born but have a few questions..bare with me, it is my first time!
1.Does the hospital Make you feed your baby formula to "top the baby off" after feeding colostrum?
2.Does the baby get full from the colostrum alone?

Whenever I watch a baby show on TV it seems like the doctors always tell the mother to supplement with formula...I really don't want this. Can somebody give me some insight? I hope my questions were clear enough! Thank you!
