My baby will not drink or nurse from a bottle for more then 5 min. at a time! It is driving me nuts because i want to make sure she is getting in enough calories. She is a very healthy happy child, i just was wondering if anyone elses child did this as well. I try to feed her in quiet room but she finds interests in anything and everything from a pillow to the ceiling fan!

Trust me, when she is hungry enough she will eat. Babies dont always need to be full, they just get satisfied. I had a class with my midwife today and he actually talked about it. He said not to be worried, and that the baby will let you know when its time to eat! He has 6 kids (WOW) and is a captain in the Army. Knows his job very well! Let your baby tell you when she is hungry and she will be fine! Lots o luck! *wink*

I have a six and a half month old and I guess what I would do in that situation is just wait until she tells you she is hungry enough to eat a full meal. Some times it seems like my daughter just plays with her bottle, and I have to take it from her until she is hungry enough to drink it all, or it goes to waste.
It is really hard to not worry though, isn't it? I wonder if she is getting enough food when I take a bottle away, but it seems to work every time.

She will eat when she is hungry. Also, most babies will nurse when they are sleepy, try giving her bottle before you put her down for a nap or bed.

This is an easy one. She may be a baby but she knows when she is hungry. She will let you know too. She won't suffer malnutrition because she is entertaining herself elsewhere. Don't worry about it. Really.
Oh! And please don't poke any extra holes in your nipples! lol

Maybe try a different nipple or poke a very smal hole to make sure they are getting enough & you should talk with your doctor of your concerns
