I can't get anything done. soon I will be returning to work and she will be at home with my grandmother. she cries the moment I put her in her bouncer or crib. I have bought different mobiles and played different lullabies but nothing seems to help. She wants to be held! how soon is too soon for this to be a case of spoilness? When it's time for daycare....they are not going to want to hold her all day either. It hurts me so bad to see her cry when I put her down, so what should I do??? HELP plz!!

You can't spoil an infant. All you need to do is hold her.

She's ONLY one month old. This is very normal. No, she is NOT spoiled. You can't spoil a baby. Something that is spoiled has been ignored and left to rot, not something/someone who has been given love and attention.

A one month old was just inside you a few short weeks ago! She could see/hear/smell/taste/touch you every second of every day. Now, she doesn't even fully understand that the two of you are separate people yet. She also doesn't understand yet that when she can't sense you, you still exhist. Imagine how scarey that would be! Kind of like waking up to find that your leg was gone.

Being held is a true NEED at this age and is GOOD for them.

Get a sling to wear her in so that you can get things done. When you do need to put her down, try to keep her in your line of sight and talk/sing to her while you are apart. Gradually she will begin to be OK with that since she can still sense you being close.

No,she isn't spoiled. When a 1 month old cries it is one of 3 reasons. They are hungry, tired or uncomfortable. The 3rd one is the tough one. It can be anything from a wet diaper to being sick. Sometimes when they cry when lying down but not when held is because of gas. It hurts more when you are not upright. I would call her doctor.

There is so possible way to spoil a newborn!! you cant even spoil an infant or toddler. Your daughter can feel the love and feels safe when she is held close!! Try wrapping her tightly in some reciever blankets. It will make her feel safe!! Also, sometimes just let her cry!! that is how they learn. You will find somethin you will see she enjoys and loves maybe a toy or blanket. Make sure that goes with her and make sure wherever she is she can feel safe!!

I am no expert but this is what I noticed. You carried that baby for nine months and she heard sounds and was jossled and moved and bumped around. From you on the phone to the TV. Then it comes out and it is laid in a nice still quiet crib. No movement, no noise, no voice, Etc.
And its food came in a tube so eating was a breeze and they never got hungry or wet or cold. Now they are experienceing all those things. Don't know about your baby but I no that would tick me off. So for a while I guess you have to experience his flustration. If he didn't cry there would be something wrong with him. I mean no one is that good with change.

She just wants your attention... she likes to be close to you. Remember she has been in tight quarters in your belly for 9 months. Maybe invest in a baby carrier (a snuggli or something) and you can have the baby with you and have both your hands free.

My 2 week old is just like this. She loves to be held, but you can't spoil her yet... she just wants her mommy. You are familiar to her because you are who she has seen most since she was born and she knows your voice. She's just getting used to being in the world!

Some babies need extra attention to cope with the world around them. My son was this way early on too. Do you have a sling? You can find a native pouch type sling for really cheap. I got mine at www.luckybaby.com. I just wore him around in it all the time for two weeks and he was much happier. I think he needed some reassuring.

After that I backed off and wore it out to the store or when on vacation. But, he didn't need it like he first did. Your mom could even use one....I think it helps get more housework done if you wear your baby. Rather than try to get them to nap this early.

For the first 3 months do what you need to to do keep your baby happy. She was use to being held 24 hours a day when she was inside you and it will take her time to adjust to being outside of you. This is totally new for her. My baby was the same way and she was totally different when she turned 4 months old.

My peds doctor said you cannot spoil an infant. Daycare centers have a smaller ratio of infants to adults than older children to adults. Enjoy your baby, give her lots of hugs and kisses this is how they feel secure. It's a hard transition from having that umbilical cord attached to being outside of the womb. Congratulations!!!!

You will not spoil her by holding her, what she needs right now is the closeness. I did the same thing, it is one thing with a toddler, but you will not spoil a 1 month old.

You should just hold her. I have spent the past week sitting on the couch hlding my one month old because he wants to be held. He falls asleep while he is eating and he wakes up when I move him. She will get more comfortable with her surroundings soon.
