aaak-my baby is teething NOW- she is 9 weeks (yes-9 weeks)
lets see...in a weeks time-- she started sucking and chewing on her hands-hard core, lol she would shove her whole fist in her mouth, she had a low grade fever, tiny rash like spots on her face and neck, red cheeks, pushing on her gums, she sucks down a cold bottle of formula right out of the fridge,
since last Tuesday all of the above has happened-not all in the same day or at the same time though.

she had a fever but no other signs of being sick at all--she is as happy as can be smiling and playing, etc etc & has a huge appetite
she got her 2 month shots last week and we thought all this was side effects from those, lol

My children started to show signs of teething at around 2 months. I know this is really early... but my first child's first tooth didn't come through until 6 months. My 2nd baby is only 5 months and doesn't have his teeth yet, but has been teething for 3 months. The signs are excessive drooling and the urge to knaw on everything in sight! Sometimes they get bouts of unexplained crankiness, but when you rub their gums or give them a little Oragel they feel better.
Just remember that every baby is different, and some will have teething symptoms for months before the tooth cuts through, and some will only teethe for a short period of time!

My son started teething at 5 months. He started drooling a lot more than normal, putting his fist in his mouth, chewing on his toys, that kind of thing. Not too long after he started, I could see the gums where his bottom front teeth were coming in get pale. He's been sprouting a new pair just about every 2 months since then! and the symptoms are always the same: drool, mouthiness, irritability. Sometimes he gets a little diarrhea and fever at the height of it.

I work at a daycare and most of them start teething around the age of 4-5 months ,
you can tell by some like to chew on things and sometimes they will cry alot.Dribbling increases. If there are no teeth present by 12 months of age, then one must seek professional advice.

My boy has only just got his first tooth, he is 13 months. I found out when he put a leaf in his mouth and I felt the tooth there as I was getting the leaf out of his mouth.

I think my boy was a bit late with teething, it usually begins around 7 months in most cases. But like all other milestones, some babies start early some are late.

Three or four months, and it took forever for those darn teeth to come in. Usually, they start drooling, getting fussy, sometimes have a bit of a stuffy nose, want to chew on their fingers and can even run a low-grade fever. If the doctor okays it, you might try a little baby tylenol or baby ambasol, but ask the doctor first. Also, my babies tended to spit-up more often, sometimes refused to take a bottle or pacifier and occasionally even had a little diarrhea.

Babies can start teething anywhere from 2 months to 12 (my son started at 3 months). Your baby will drool in huge amounts when he/she starts teething, and they rub their gums with anything they can fit into their mouths. Some babies also get fussy and don't sleep as well at night. A lot of docs say it doesn't hurt babies when teeth are coming in, but I don't buy it. Every baby is different.

When you are a brand new parent it will go like this..(or it did for me) baby will cry and not sleep.. you freak out thinking something is wrong, and nothing you do helps. A few days after it passes you'll see a tooth coming out! Then you will get the hang of it. the only thing that worked for my daughter was teething tablets. Its a tiny tablet that dissolves in their mouth. I think its just distracting to them as there isnt any real medicine in it. **** luck.

My daughter started teething at 4 months...this is early though. They usually say somewhere around 6 months is average. Things to look for: swollen gums, diaper rash, running nose, low grade fever (below 101), and whiny or fussy baby.
