she is our second child and she seems to have her days and nights mixed up. We can put her down but after a few minutes she is right back up. Most of the time she will lay there looking around then she will cry. this has gone on for a month and a half and my wife and i cant seem to get any sleep. i dont think shes hurting. i think its just her wanting attention or to be rocked asleep. any ideas?

Well we actually played with ours more in the daytime and did lots of traveling and holding to kinds keep him awake. We let him sleep for three day naps, but no longer than an hour-two.. Then weaned him down to ONE nap in the afternoon for hour-two. While in a growing spurt, I move the nap time UP to earlier to accommodate a three-four nap.

The best advise my "Mothers' & friends" gave me was establish a bedtime ritual for the whole family. A great dinner (that meant some rice ceral or oatmeal in the bottle) to feel fuller, a warm bath (before or after meal), put them in bed and read a book, turn lights down and kisses good night. OUT.

That is hard to do everynight, yet we did manage it....he was asleep by 8 pm most nights and woke once at 2 am (hungry/wet) [gave him another full bottlew/ cereal] he slept until 8 or 9 am. Sounds to easy...it was.
Burped him well.... At 2am it was rocking chair meal and snuggles. When he woke up in the morning he had a BM and was really hungary again. That was at 2 months old.

I breastfeed and began to pump more often, to regulate our sleep times better. SO he recieved a bottle of my milk, instead of breast feeding the first 6 months.

Being 2 months ols, she has her own sleeping habits, not much you can do. Maybe you can try to keep her alert during the day and make sure her room is bright until bedtime. Also, if this is happening before her last feeding, she may have colic. Sit her up for a while in a sitter and see if that helps. Try it, can't hurt, may help.

She is way too young to expect her to sleep thru the night.

Schedule the child's activities so that it doesn't sleep from 4pm to 10pm
