What are some newborn essentials? As a first time parent we want to buy everthing from the store but is not true you will need everything and babies grow so fast that they might end up using an outfit once. What are some suggestions?

I want to make a gift basket of necessities for my friend's baby shower. But rather than use a basket, I want to use a tin tub/bucket so I can stencil the baby's name on it.

Anyone know where I can find one of these? Thanks!

Currently once my son falls asleep I always lay him in his crib, sometimes he will sleep for 5 mins and wake up, is it ok to just let him cry? Should I put him in ther when he is awake and let him cry himselft to sleep. I have tried this and he cried for like 20 mins, and I can not deal with it.. I feel horrible. I don't know what to do. I am starting a new job, and I really need him to sleep in his crib. I also just quit nursing him and he is doing ok taking a bottle, but do you think this is too much at once? Any suggests would be great! I don't know what to do, but I don't want him sleeping in bed with us anymore either.... PLEASE HELP!!

I have a 6 month old daughter who I took to the doctor yesterday and the doctor told me that if she doesn't roll from her back to her stomach or the other way soon she might have to come in for other tests and stuff. Any advice or any ways to get her to roll?

He currently eats about 2 to 3 ounces every 2 hrs. My babies doctor who is 80 years old said that is enough but is it really? Or is 2 oz every 2 good or 2 to 3 ounce every 3 better?

A friend has a new baby and does not want to have the child vaccinated by the doctor. I was worried that she could possibly face some sort of neglience charge.

My husband and I just had a baby girl (our first) on Feb. 24th. I am trying to fight through the baby blues, but my husband is being very unsupportive and just yells at me and makes me feel guilty everytime I cry. Also, when it comes to our daughter, he acts like it's a chore to spend time with her, and refuses to change her diaper if he thinks it's poopy. Yesterday, when i convinced him to feed her so i could get one load of laundry done, she put her fingers in her mouth as she was eating (she always does this) and he yelled at her to get her fingers out of her mouth! I told him to never yell at her again. (While I was pregnant, he had a bad temper with me at times.) My little girl is only 3 weeks old, and I am 19, and my husband is 21. I just don't know what to do to explain how i am feeling to him. I've tried to talk to him, and show him articles on new parents, but he just seems annoyed when I show him. Any advice would be a big help!!

I just bought a Graco play yard for my baby, and I can't figure out how to set it up. It says it sets up in less than a minute. Since there are no instructions with it, my minute has turned into 30 frustrting minutes. Can someone please help me? :)

I'm looking for baby names for boys and girls. I want unique ones but nothing odd. Just very cute middle names that flow with them would be a plus.

I was just wondering what age can a baby eat solid food or smush baby food? My sister just had a baby and she's pre mature. She only weighs like 5 pounds or somethin like that. My sister is feeding her breast milk only. When can the baby eat normal baby food instead of just drinking milk?

My son is 6 months old and has a head size of 46.5 cm, which is in the 97th percentile for his age. Does anybody else's child have a large head and is there anything I should be worried about? His pediatrician mentioned doing a CT scan on him. He is developing very normal otherwise. He also has a band above his forehead that kinda sticks out, kinda like when the skull was forming together once side grew underneath the other. I guess that is the best way I can explain it. Is this normal?

When I try to give him formula he just throws the bottle away. But He will drink milk, and I bought a vitamin supplement with Vitamin A, B1,B2, B3, C,and D. He eats lots always has but is still only eating baby foods and yogurt (3.25 % that is sweetened only with a little fruite juice). But what about B6 and B12 and Vitamin K and everything else, I am really worried. My family doctor is old fashioned and a little mean so I am afraid to tell him. Please I need some good advice. I make sure he gets fruit rice cereal meat and veggies everyday. He will eat mum mum crackers as well. I am just worried about his nutrion. He has about 3 bottles a day sometimes 4 but always 3 meals with snacks. He is 10 kg (22lbs) He also will drink fruit juice but I know it's not as important. Thanks for your help!

I haven't been to see a doctor since I had really bad heartburn at 22 weeks of pregnancy. He couldn't give me anything for it anyway!

My daughter is now 4 months old, she had never even met a doctor, she hasn't needed to thank goodness! But when I took her for her first set of immunisations yesterday they refused to do them until we had seen a doctor! We did, he looked at her and put a stethoscope on her chest, but that was all. He wanted to look at me too but I didn't see any reason to! I'm fine!

She eventually had her injections but I'm still confused. Why did we have to see the doctor? Any theories?

Thanks in advance!
