Congratulation! I know it sounds scary, but things will fall into place. If you attend church, ask for their help. You will need more than two people to feed the babies. Find some volunteers. People LOVE babies and are always willing to give their free time to helping out. Find a local group that has parents of triplets. You can type in search engine Triplet support group and then add your city and state. You can also talk with the hospital staff who will surely make recommendations. If you have the time, stop in at the library and find some books on having multiple babies. You won't be the first or last daddy to have triplets. The material and support is out there. You just have to take the time to look. Good Luck.

You need to learn to give each one as much attention as the others. Say if you give one a hug and give him an airplane ride on your arms, then your afternoon will be filled with muscle aches and hugs. Nothing bad about this, but make sure that you continually praise the children equally and you kiss and hug your wife. She'll be really stressed out until they can walk and poop by themselves, so try and kiss her and you be the one to get up in the middle of the night when they cry. Try and support her with whatever she teaches the children, and be a big part of thier activities.
Reading books won't help, becuase anyone who has the time to write a book and take care of a newborn doesn't know the ropes. Your fatherly instincts will kick in the first time you see your kid playing around with the washer.

Don't have triplets, but I think you need to learn patience, parenting skills, how to do things with one hand, or none at all. Keep an open mind, learn to ask for help. Learn to realize and accept that things will not go as planned and that is ok. A lot of things wont get done and that is ok too. My advice: join a multiples club. We have them in my area. There you will meet other people who have multiples and learn from their experiences.

The patience of a saint.
A grip of iron.
A stomach of steel.

The number of the Samaritans.

Visit www.babycentre.co.uk, or www.babycenter.com if you're in the US. They have fathers boards and multiples boards so you can talk to others going through what you are, who will have the best advice and experience. I only have one baby and can't imagine three!

Congratulations though, what a gift to you. You won't forget the day you found that out it a hurry I'll bet!

Good luck to your lady friend carrying your little uns around, I hope they all arrive safe and well.

Good luck!

just remember you are learning to be a dad and they are learning to be babies. they don't know how the world works and they need you to be there for them. be patient. the first few weeks are harder then the next. try to get them into a routine. good luck.

you can read all kinds of books but all you need is common sense and your basic dad instinct will kick in and you will know what to do naturally.. learn patients, have lots of love, and enjoy them cause they grow up so fast..
