I have a 6 month old daughter who I took to the doctor yesterday and the doctor told me that if she doesn't roll from her back to her stomach or the other way soon she might have to come in for other tests and stuff. Any advice or any ways to get her to roll?

Hold a rattle or a favorite toy in a way that will encourage her to roll over to reach for the toy. You can also roll her manually so she gets the feel of rolling from her back to her stomach. Athough most babies roll over by 6 mos of age...there is that 3 month rule...so you shouldn't get worried till 9 mos of age (if she's not rolling by then). I would think that before any test are to be performed a developmental assesment should be performed first to see if your child is really having any developmental delays. It's not a bad idea to get assesed just so you know if your child has any problems of reaching her milestones. If they conclude that she is behind you may be able to qualify for free services through your local early intervention program. But for now, I'll give it a month or so and see how she does. If it starts really bothering you then you can have her evaluated

Make sure you give her time to play on her belly. You can also get down there and roll with her. She's only 6 months give her a little time and I'm sure she'll get the hang of it. All babies are different some roll over at 4 months and some at 5 or 6 months. Just have a little patience. Best of luck to you.

Put something she really likes just out of her reach. Show her by laying her on her stomach and gently pushing her over, that she can get it if she tries hard. It is hard to get from belly to back, easier to get from back to belly, you can help with pushing the opposite leg across baby to start her rolling. Also laying her on her side, so she rolls on her own, and some praise goes a long way. She may or may not take the bait, but it is a start.

All babies develop differently, I wouldn't rush her to much to do "by the book" things.

How much tummy time does she get? Tummy time is a major factor in babies being able to reach developmental milestones. I would put her on a blanky on her back and surround her with toys and let her play without bothering her or running over to her at the first squawk - leave her for 5 minutes if she is still squawking or crying then pick her up.
I hope that helps and good luck.

My son is 4 months and he chooses when he wants to roll. I notice that sometimes he gets 75% of the way, then just doesn't finish rolling over. You could try putting toys or a mirror to one of her sides to stimulate her eyes, hands, body, etc. Perhaps she may try to grab the toy or touch the mirror and she'll roll.

Does your daughter attempt to roll and just has'nt figured it out yet or is there no attempt at all? I would try working with her and showing her how to roll over while she is lying on her back. Try it, I did it with my son. He couldn't figure out what to do with his arm to roll over. i showed him several times and a week later I found him on his stomach in his crib.
Babies learn from us and some need more attention than others.
Don't worry, but really try it! Good Luck

Assuming she interacts well... put her on the floor...on her back. Lay next to her on your stomach, and coo and get her interacting with you.. Maybe use a toy to get her to reach for it. try moving slightly above her so she needs to turn her neck. This uncomfortable position may trigger her to try to roll.
BIG FYI Babies roll at different stages... one thing most have in common is... IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT.

Tummy Time! Lay on the ground with her and play daily, let her watch you roll, roll and look at her clapping and smiling, she'll get the hint, good luck!

She needs to spend more time on her tummy. If you have been reluctant up until now to put her on her tummy, then thats probably the whole rason for the delay and its not a crisis...she will catch up...she may HATE tummy time right now though!
