Will saving my money and letting baby nurse straight from my breast change the appearance or texture of my nipples? I will have the time and hopefully the energy to breast feed as much as I need to, so thats not an issue. Should I go ahead and pay the 150-300$ for a breast pump? HELP!

My baby was born at 7 lbs 12oz and is now 8 weeks and weighs 11lbs 6oz. Is this normal or is he over/under weight?

My boy turns 1 next month. I've been giving him mashed fruits and veggies and a few finger foods (like Cheerios and the Gerber puffs). I know you can feed them pretty much anything, but I'd like some ideas of what he could mash easily in his two-toothed mouth. And how often do you give your infant food vs. formula? I'd love to see your daily feeding schedule that works for you and your 1 year old.

I think it was something like a migraine attack but without the pain. I woke up at 2 am and saw this little dot in front of my left eye. It got bigger and bigger and looked like a zigzag pattern. After 30 min or so all was over.
Up to now I never had it again.
My ob/gyn told me not to worry.

I am still nursing my 13 month old with no plans to wean anytime soon. Last night my husband took him to the Dr. as it happens, it was not our regular practitioner. This man told my husband that I should wean because there was no longer any benefit to me nursing.

Luckily, I am well informed and educated when it comes to Breastfeeding, so I KNOW there are MANY benefits. I was just soooo surprised by this Dr's comments. It made me wonder what other ppl have heard either from Drs or other ppl.

My 8 week old baby has recently (within the past three weeks) started napping for only 45 minutes. She only takes three or so naps per day and is obviously still tired upon wakening. She becomes fussy and overtired within a few minutes of waking up. I've tried to soothe her back to sleep and have even let her cry for 5 minutes upon wakening but she will not go back to sleep. I've tried feeding her after she wakes up thinking that was the reason but she's not hungry. Because of these short naps, her awake time is limited and she tires very quickly (cannot stay up longer than an hour without becoming fussy). Most of the time she falls asleep for her naps on her own in the crib if I catch her at just the right time. In the evenings she is extremely fussy because she is over-tired. After getting her to sleep, night sleep is not an issue as she is sleeping 6-7 hour stretches. Is there anything I can do to extend her nap time? Any reason why she is doing this?

If you made the decision to feed formula to your baby rather than breastmilk, what influenced you? I am curious why anyone would NOT want to breastfeed their baby.

I am pregnant again and I am ready to breastfeed after my baby is born and plan not feed w/ any formula. But, how do I go about loosing some weight while breastfeeding? Please help! Also, I am not loosing weight to deprive my baby the nutrition. I want to loose weight for my health reasons. Are there any mothers out there that are experiencing the same situation and if so, did you find a solution?

My daughter is 17 months old. When I take her to the Dr for her well baby checks, her height-weight ratio isnt even on the charts. She is so tiny. She JUST grew out of her 6/9 months clothes! She was an avrage sized baby, 6 lbs. 12 oz. and 19 inches. My Dr acts very casual about it and finally ordered some blood tests, an Insulin Like Growth Factor test and others. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm a married mom with an 11month old baby girl. We rent a house and I do all the cleaning here plus taking care of my daughter.
I am also a full time business student and only get A's. Well, or B's.

Some people still keep telling me that I'm lazy.
What do you think?

My girl is 7 months now...at this point she is eating cereal, fruit and veggies three times a day, along with her normal formula sched. All of these are stage "1"...when is ok to move on to the next stage? She does really well with eating. Other than formula, I've given her water a few times to drink, but never juice. When did you move your baby "up"? I'm looking at all the Stage "2" stuff...meats and more fruit/veg choices. Just wondering.

My baby has lots of little white spots on her nose. None on the bridge, just on the tip of her nose. My husband says they're her pores. Is that really what they are and when will the white spots dissapear? It's been 3 weeks since she was born.

I got a breast pump from someone, she was giving it away. I don't personally know her so she's not my friend or anything. Some say it should be fine to use it, just to clean it really well, but others say it would be gross to use someone else's breast pump... any thought on this? Would I be gross for using it? If not, what are some good ways to clean it to make sure it's sterilized well?
