My boy turns 1 next month. I've been giving him mashed fruits and veggies and a few finger foods (like Cheerios and the Gerber puffs). I know you can feed them pretty much anything, but I'd like some ideas of what he could mash easily in his two-toothed mouth. And how often do you give your infant food vs. formula? I'd love to see your daily feeding schedule that works for you and your 1 year old.

well, my son is 14 mo... but has been eating the same stuff for a while. He has 8 front teeth and is getting 2 molars right now... but teeth dont have a whole lot to do with it. They dont chew food with thier front teeth (do you?) they chew with thier back gums. My son has been eating table food since about 8 months... so hes had lots of practice.

Breakfast: 1 scrambled egg and one peice of buttered whole grain (unenriched) toast
Lunch: Crackers (unenriched) and hummis, or sunbutter, fruit, sometimes beans, avocado sandwiches
Snack: fruit... typically bananas or berries or cantelope... whatever looks good at the store.
Dinner: whatever we have... i try to include 1 protein, and at least 3 vegetables... sometimes whole wheat pasta or brown rice.

He nurses throughout the day and night still... he probably get about 1/3- 1/2 his nutrtion from milk.

Mine gets three meals and 2 snacks. her snacks are things like puffs, applesauce, baby yogurt. Her meals are generally what we eat. I get the Gerber Graduate meals for when we have something not good for her.
Formula:
she is on Enfamil AR. she gets one 8oz bottle during the day. usually before her nap. she gets the other one at bedtime.

cook some vegetables until they are soft. I used to buy the mixed veggies in the frozen isle and cook them that way and feed them to my kids, they loved it. Also, little chunks of apple, or pears, blueberries, cantaloupe, etc. are really good for them and it's fun for them to feed themselves. :) Good luck!!
