depends on where you live
I live in cali with a baby due the 24th of September and I will be using short sleeve. If it is for bed you can put them in short sleeve then bunt them with a blanket. It is always good to have long sleeves around just in case you have some cooler nights

I would suggest light weight long sleeve onesis and the regular short sleeve ones. Newborns need to be kept warm, and your air conditioner or fan might even give him a chill. Keep plenty of each for the first few months. Also, be sure you have a change of different types of clothes in the diaper bag, you never know what the temp might do during early fall months, or what the temp might be like once you get inside a store.

Depends on where you live. If you live in Texas or another southern state(assuming you're American)go for mostly short sleeves. If you live in the upper half go for mostly long, and if you live in the middle like Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, straight through to Ohio I suggest you get a few of each because September is kind of hard to figure out..sometimes it's bitterly cold and snowing and sometimes it's hot. Whatever you buy, keep the reciepts and leave the tags on til the little one is born and most stores will take it back if it isn't right for you when he's born.(you may need bigger or smaller sizes depending on you're little guy also) Good luck and blessings on you're little one.

My first is due August 9th.....I bought a little bit of both. But seeing that I stay in Wisconsin and seeing how the weather changes alot, I think I'm going to buy more long sleeved clothes.

Like everyone has said, it depends on where you live. The day I took my oldest daughter home from the hospital a nurse told me that if you (the parent) have to where a sweater, then the baby should get bundled up as well. But if you wear summer clothes, then the baby does not need to be bundled up. But always have back up clothes, the weather can change at any time. Hope this helps.

My daughter was born at the end of August last year and she wore maybe one sleevless outfit cause it was already fall. I would suggest more longsleeved and tshirts vs sleevless, and I wouldnt' buy too many dresses/shorts/capris, cause he/she won't be able to wear them to long. Depending on where you live anyways, I live in NH so it get's cold quick.
Good luck, and don't buy too much, my daughter had a whole 70 gallon tote of clothes she grew out of before she could wear them!!!!!

i had a baby in september so i know what ya mean
mostly short sleeves and summer stuff (well it depends where you live)
there is nothing wrong with simple sleepers they are warm and cute and no need for a top bottom and socks

Mine was born Oct. 6th last year and I wondered the same thing. I learned that it doesn't really matter though because you'll probably be wrapping (swaddling) him with a blanket most of the time.

I would say buy a little of both to be prepared either way. You can always get little baby jackets and sweaters too, so you can layer baby's clothing.
