My son is 6 months old and has a head size of 46.5 cm, which is in the 97th percentile for his age. Does anybody else's child have a large head and is there anything I should be worried about? His pediatrician mentioned doing a CT scan on him. He is developing very normal otherwise. He also has a band above his forehead that kinda sticks out, kinda like when the skull was forming together once side grew underneath the other. I guess that is the best way I can explain it. Is this normal?

my baby also had a MONSTER noggin by the time he was 1 we could wear the same hat...i was worried his head whould just keep growing and when he was older he'd have to lug aroung his giant melon...after the turned two things slowed and he's aucally growing into his head now(hes 4) lol...i wouldn't worry to much abou it ...also my 3rd son's plates fused early on with bones overlaping (it caused him to have these big pointy lumps on the sides near the crown of his head...horns so to say) i was really really worried about it but as he got older things settled in so to say and while he still had bumps in the same spots their barely noticable ...im shure everthing will be fine...but be shure to keep an eye onhim plates fusing early can lead to the brain being squeesed... if it gets worse and leads to medical problems its a pretty simple surgery to fix it

If you are concerned that the doctor isn't being thorough, then seek a second opinion.

At 4 weeks old my friend's baby's head was growing too fast and testing revealed that he had hydracephalis (water on the brain). I'm not sure if this is something that is always diagnosed early like his was or if it can develop at a later age. Her son's head at 6 months old was the same size as his father's-they could share a baseball cap. He did have surgery and he is fine now (he just turned 10).

It appears like cradle cap, i've got used toddler oil before on my daughters scalp precisely like your mil advised you to do, yet mutually because it replaced into on her head I gently used a toddler brush to bathe and get many of the dry scalp off that way, then I left it on and combed it. It labored for us, stable good fortune.

my babies head is the bottom of the percentile, so i worry too, all babies have different sized heads, as long as theyre in the graph, or even out a bit, it hopefully shouldnt matter, good luck too
