Help! My husband and me are fighting over girl baby names! When my son, Dalton was born, they wouldn't let us leave the hospital until we gave him a name and we're afraid that it might happen again. We both decided it would be an unusual and unique name so our baby could stand out.
Here's the names I like:
October- After in which Halloween (my favorite holiday is and it's a family tradition.)
Lilly-After my favorite kind of flower
Raphael- After my favorite artist
May- After my grandmother

His-
Eden- (Biblical name)
Evangeline- (After his great-grandmother)
Verona- (The place where his family came from)
Miranda-(After his mother)
Brazil- The place where we first met
Please help! I'm desperate!

My baby boy is nine weeks old. He sleeps very well through the night, and stays up almost all day. He's really starting to show an interest in playing; in fact, if you don't keep him entertained he'll get really fussy! Problem is, I can't find too many toys for his age group. What toys did you and your baby like in this age range the most? What games did they like to play?

I really feel that my cousins doctor is pushing her baby way to much, or rushing her. She was 2 months premature..
At 4 months the doctor said she could start the heinz beginner solids, forget rice cereal, solids..veggies, fruit and juice.
At 5 months he said to put her on the heinz 6 month fruits and veggies.
He said its ok for her to give her freezes at 7 months
Then she waits till 9 months and start her on the heinz 8 month food, and at her 9 month app. the doctor said she can now put her on **** milk and let her eat whatever they eat.
Is this to much to soon? I know my doc said fruits and veggies at 6 months and **** milk at 12 months. Her baby was 2 months premature and I just think they are letting her eat way to much too soon.
The reason I ask is because she keeps telling me my child, who is only 7 months now, can have this and that, but Im following what my doctor said and I she thinks Im not letting my child experience food cause I won't....

I have used Nestle Good Start with my previous 2 sons and I am now expecting my 3rd child in June. I would love to continue with the Good Start but, it's become so expensive! I'd love to try the generic brands (namely either Walmart's or Superstore's.) I love that Good Start has the "broken down whey proteins"... .... .. do you think that a generic brand may have the same ingredients? I notice that Walmart in the US has a formula called, "Parent's Choice Gentle" that comes pretty close to Good Start (or actually, "Enfamil Gentlease"... but, it's not offered in Canada!! I'd really like to find a generic (and actually less expensive) version of Nestle Good Start.

Thanks in advance for any information.

My daughter is almost 7 months and doesn't coo very much. She laughs a lot but doesn't really make sounds. Im a first time mom so Im not sure if its normal. She just seems curious about everything and not very vocal. She hears perfectly, no problems there. I was just curious if this is normal. She has a doctors appointment as Im concerned about this but I just wanted to see what others experienced with their children, see if Im overreacting.

I am currently breast feeding my 6 mo old. But it seems like it is not sufficing him. I juz started him on solids. Also, I am returning to work place, I have worked from home until now, but not anymore, so I am planning to switch my baby to other sources of milk. I m presently in India and my good old neighbor suggested me to start him on buffalo milk. But I want to know if it is ok for the baby, a lil 6mo old. Any input in appreciated.

my 10 month old baby has been eating solid foods for 2 months (carrots, pears, apples, potatoes, etc) and recently stop taking them. He makes angry faces and will not open his mouth for the spoon. He still drinks his formula fine.

My mom, aunt, and grandma were saying that babies scare themselves when they see their reflection. This isn't true is it?

This is my first child, its a boy. And i want to be the best mother i can be without the help from other people. Im a little concerned about my boyfriends mother trying to butt in. I live an hour away from the grandparents. But shes bipolar/skitzofranic so she takes medication. She didnt even take care of her son when he was born so i highly doubt she can even change a babys diaper completly after going #2, give a baby a bath safley, or even feed a baby a bottle.
I dont want to have to worry about if my son is going to get a diaper rash, or if hes getting to much air from the way she holds the bottle. I just dont want her touching him to much, also she smokes cigarettes. But i heard her talking to her sister on the phone the other day saying how she cant wait to help me with the baby. If she took care of her own kid 25 yrs ago then i wouldnt be concerned but she has a mental disability. What can i do so she kind of keeps her hand off my son?

He doesn't cry alot... but the place is not soundproof at all! I can hear alarm clocks and what t.v. station the neighbors are listening to. I can hear every word of their arguments when they argue! It is just an awful building. The thing is the baby is a newborn and wakes up 4 times a night. I have to go to work, I am not on maternity leave like the mom. Their baby wakes me up everynight and early morning. I don't want to be rude... I know they have rights.. but i need to sleep the full night.. what to do?

What book(s) did you read when you were pregnant to prepare you for the birth and the early days with your baby?

I never read anything as my mum kept telling me I knew it all but just didn't know it and that the babies haven't read the book so whats the point!

I had friends who disected every book going and were completly paranoid as a result!

Whats your experiance?

I have a 3 month-er and I had to take her off my breast since she wasnt getting enough from me. I gave her some goats milk because my father in law said that he was raised on it and she loved it. But I started hearing that it is bad for babies so young.

If it is ok... i also heard that i need to make sure she is getting a multi vitamin... is that true?

My baby is 1 week old today and we noticed his skin is becoming dry and a little flaky in some places. Mostly his hands, between the fingers and on his tummy, around the top of his diaper. Is this normal? Is there anything we should do? I don't want to use lotion since his hands are always near his face and in his mouth.

My husband and I have a 4 week old. Lately we have been fighting non stop. He will get in my face and yell even while I am holding the baby. We had quite the argument a little while ago, and now he's told me he's going to see his family. (They live out of state) and he's taking the baby with him. I am currently breast feeding- supplementing with formula as well. Legally can he take her without my permission? I don't want to even leave her with him the way his temper has been.
