There are a lot of reasons a baby would just stop eating. One major one is teething. Even if he has shown signs prior, he could be cutting a new tooth that hurts a bit more. There could also be stomach pain, constipation, or other gastrointestinal ailments. Another thing could be boredom. I gave my daughter (now 2) semifrozen peas. I know it sounds weird, but the cold helped with teething and the peas were not too big that she would choke. Check the link for a safe food holder. It rocks!

Sorry i'm not going to be much help, i just wanted to say that i sympathise with you, my 7 month old baby has started doing the same thing. He has been on solids for just under 2 months. He was eating 3 good meals a day, but the last week or so he has been having just a spoonful and then refusing to open his mouth. It doesn't happen every meal but most of them. He's still breast feeding fine too.

try cooking your own foods for him. Boiled sweet potatoes cut into small chunks, fresh applesauce (maybe with a little cinnamon), steamed carrots cut real small, small chunks of pears. Spread them out on his high chair tray and let him try to feed himself.
There were many MANY days when my son would pitch a fit if I tried to spoon his food into his mouth for him! Once I started letting him feed himself he was back to eating like a champ :)

maybe he wants something different try the dinner baby food like mac and cheese, turkeyand sweet potatoes. If he's 10 months he should be eating the number 3 baby food.

He's entered the picky eater stage probably. Foods he once loved, he now hates. Try new foods, try the same foods a couple hours later. Try not to get impatient with him though, he'll get through this stage!

Maybe he wants regular table foods that he can try to eat himself. Kids are funny, as long as he is drinking his formula and taking vitimens he should be fine. eventually he will want to eat.

at this age he needs the thicker foods
they have more nutrition and taste better
he may also be tired of the same things over and over
try getting the gerber mashed potatoes my daughter loved them especially the broccoli chedder (it smells horrible though)

Check out your baby books for suggestions. Although Dr. Spock is out of favour, he deals with all these issues very practically.

you should try giving him the same food, but put it through a blender so it's easyer to swallow, he might be being fussy about chewing it.
