There is anecdotal evidence that for some babies goat's milk is better tolerated than formula. However it should be fortified and have added sugars. There is a recipe here, note that it uses a fortified powdered goat's milk of a specific brand.

However, I sincerely doubt you aren't capable of making enough milk. Over 99% of women can make enough milk UNLESS they do not have support to get the right latch and are using outdated advice such as feeding schedules and feeding so many minutes per side.
Also even if you could only make a partial supply you should still be breastfeeding ANY amount of breastmilk is better than NO breastfeeding. And suckling also aids in the development of the jaw. Not to mention the psychological benefits of skin to skin contact.

From my experience, babies are allowed only breast milk or formula. Other things might mess with your babies digestive system or worse immune. What if she was allergic to that? What if she would have blown up like a balloon and stopped breathing? You never know what could happen so I would say No to goat's milk.

You shouldn't give milk.... cow, goat, anything.... to a baby that's digestive system isn't mature enough to handle it. Also she's missing out on essential nutrients that is in the breast milk. If your'e not going to breast feed...your baby should be on formula... any kind of formula. NOT milk. Multi vitamines aren't necessary for a baby who is on formula, but vitamine D suppliments are necessary if you are breastfeeding.

You need to talk to your pediatrician and/or family doctor. A 3 mos old should have NOTHING but breastmilk or formula. If you don't have enough milk, you nurse more often and that helps you make more milk. Also, there are herbs that you can take to increase supply. I'd strongly suggest that you put her back on your breast and contact your local La Leche League for some help with breastfeeding.

I wouldn't do it. I would stick to formula. It contains exactly what the baby needs everytime. Breast milk is never the same and can cause problems with allergies and health of the baby

I would think that it isn't good for a baby that small since it's not even recommended for them to drink cow's milk. I would stick with formula if you're not able to breast feed.

Our pediatrician says not to give babies goats milk. It does not have all of the nutrients that your baby needs. Why did you not try regular formula if you were going to take her off of breast milk? It is not okay! Next time, ask your baby's doctor first!

When I was really small, my parents had to switch me to goats milk and I loved it. I don't know what the difference is but it is good for a baby.
