Help! My husband and me are fighting over girl baby names! When my son, Dalton was born, they wouldn't let us leave the hospital until we gave him a name and we're afraid that it might happen again. We both decided it would be an unusual and unique name so our baby could stand out.
Here's the names I like:
October- After in which Halloween (my favorite holiday is and it's a family tradition.)
Lilly-After my favorite kind of flower
Raphael- After my favorite artist
May- After my grandmother

His-
Eden- (Biblical name)
Evangeline- (After his great-grandmother)
Verona- (The place where his family came from)
Miranda-(After his mother)
Brazil- The place where we first met
Please help! I'm desperate!

I guess we'll have to choose two names because although we knew that we were going to have a girl the first time I found I was pregnant but know we'll have to choose boy names as well because I'm having twins! A boy and a girl! Apparently when we were taking the baby's picture they found something strange and found out that another baby was hidden overshadowed by his sister.
I like the names:
Logan
Raphael
Charlie

He likes:
Wyatt
Leonardo
Casey

Have to say go with Lily Mae (or however you want to spell it) as this is my 2 year old daughters name and is so catchy and suitable to a gorgeous little girl. Also love my nieces name, Bella Scarlett.

October is also very cute as well as Eve, Eva, Evie or Ava.

Boys names...Deegan Che (my son), Jackson, Tomas, Jett, Elih, Jai Phoenix (my nephews). Eden is cool for a boy or a girl.

I am currently pregnant with my 4th child and also having trouble with finding a name, which is why I am so glad I found Yahoo Answers!! Heaps of good ones in here!

Hope this helps you. Good luck!

First, I think you should just relax about the names for a bit. Both lists of names show that the two of you have put in considerable thought, and maybe if you simply wait for the baby to be born, you will see which name fits your child best.
My husband & I had name lists developed for our first child (we didn't know the sex of the child beforehand) and when our daughter was born, we threw out the lists because she didn't LOOK like any of the names we chose! It took us three days to find the right name for her, and yes, we had a LOT of pressure from the hospital and family to name her quickly. We ended up leaving the hospital with our baby "girl Delaney" and named Norah at home. By law, you have seven days to name your child. Don't let the hospital bully you.
We ended up doing the same thing for our son, Eamon. We had the lists, actually came to a decision while still in the hospital, but chose to wait to make sure the name would "stick". All we had to do was drop off the birth certificate form at the hospital within the week.
As for my opinion on your names - Lilly is nice, but VERY popular now so if you want something different opt for another name. Brazil sounds a little harsh to the ears - romantic idea, though! Eden... I don't know about that one, either. I like the others, though. You could feminize Raphael into Raphaela... I still stand by looking at your daughter's beautiful little face and "trying the names on."
Please let us know what your decision is!

Why don't you guys try to pick names that aren't places, months, flowers, artists, and family members if you want your baby to have a unique name then try to find a name that noone else has I know that is hard but that is about your best bet try going through a baby name book.

The same thing happened to me. We ended up going to the hospital with a list of names. We eliminated them one by one while I was in labor. By the time I gave birth, we were down to 2 names . Zoel and Amira. We chose Amira because of the initials and because of the meaning. Just a couple of things to consider.

Out of your picks, I like October for a girl and Logan for a boy.
Out of his picks, I like Verona for a girl and Wyatt for a boy.

Perhaps you can conbine a name from each of your lists, for the first and middle name, that way you will both get a pick, and grandmothers will be happy too.

Congrats on the twins, and I wish you the best of luck!!

Lilly Evangelline or Lilly Eden or Eden Lilly or Eden October or October Eden or Lilly Miranda or Miranda Lilly. Do you see where I'm going with this? Use either your husband's choice as first or second then your choice as the other. If you are having twins then do the same with the boy's name. I personally do not like October or Brazil and would not have appreciated it if my parents had called me something like that. Don't forget the child will have to live with it for the rest of it's life and will have to learn to spell it too.

Might you combine two? Depending on how they go with the last name, such as Lilly Evangeline or Eden Raphael. Evangeline May or May Miranda would honor someone on both sides.
Keep in mind that Brazil and October might get a child laughed at, and she might resent it, but ultimately, the choice is up to you.

Your husband and you have to work together-- after all that is how you got pregnant--- :-)

How about for a girl: Lilly May or Lilly Eden
and for a boy: Casey Logan or Logan Casey

That way you both have your names you like....

Congrats on the twins--- You must be sooo excited and scared..... Hey, if you are having twins you need to work together on A LOT more than names-- LOL Good luck. :-)

To me it sounds like the names you like would work out great as middle names to any of the names your husband likes. Consider Evangeline May, Miranda Lilly, Verona October, or Eden May. They are all very unique! You've got a great start. me and my husband had a really hard time naming our son, and we asked almost everybodies opinion, and everybody wanted different names. In the end I just named our son just to name him and I didn't really like it, I was just trying to please everyone else. My biggest advice would be to get with your husband and seriously hash out what you too like, start over from scratch if you have to. Don't listen to anyone else, why they like a certain name or like. If you and your husbnad agreee, that is the most important thing I think. Well, good luck!
