How old is he? I bought the fisher price flutterbye dreams swing cause I though it was really cute, my daughter is now 5 months and has now just started liking it for more than a few minutes at a time cause she if spoiled to being held. Give him a little time he'll probably start to like it. Hope this helps.

Get your money back. My son loved a 25$ swing I got and my daughter hated it, she loved the yard sale bouncy seat I got as a gift. Something to consider, if the baby is not used to being put down it might not be the swing, it might be the action of being put down. It might just take time to get baby used to being left "alone."

well is he crying because he hates the swing or his he upset because you carry him around all the time and since you got the swing its the first time you have really set him down for more that a few seconds??
if its the second then put him in it and leave him in it for a little while he will get used to it

Just put it in the "I though my kid would like it but don't and now it sits on this toys that don't get used pile" pile.

There is no real way of knowing what a kid will or will not like. I have bought my kids toys that they never used. Kids are their own person and will choose what they like and don't like. You will be surpriced at the things they like too. Also, the kid does not understand the price issue. A kid can be happier with a pine cone than a $200 item. Thats just the way they are.

Is he comfortable in the swing (does he sit comfortably or
is he leaning), does the swing swing to fast (my daughter
didn't like swinging very fast), do the lights bother him?
Maybe you should try putting him in it without swinging
a few times and then when he is used to the swing
then try swinging.

I spent $60 on a swing and my son hated it, too. I put it in the garage for a few months, tried again, then he loved it. Try again in a few weeks/months.

it ususally takes a while before a baby gets used to something. You are introducing him to something new, of course he will be a bit upset. Just keep trying even though it may be stressful, try and try until he laughs and giggles and smiles when he is in it that is what I did with my daughter in her wind up swing when she was about 6 months.

He hates it because even at a young age, children like to defy their parents.

Just kidding. Give him time to adjust. Put him in it a couple times a day. He will probably grow to love it.

Because he doesnt know what it is, he oesnt see hoe "cute" it is, he doesnt care that everyone else likes it or that they "think" he should like it.
Babies dont need all the extra gizmo's and gadgets. All they need to be happy and content is to be in a set of loving arms.

Maybe the problem is that your son doesn't like being strapped down. I know my nefiew doesn't like it. And if you really like the swing, just save for your next kid. You never know, he\ she might like the swing.
