My daughter will be 12 months in March. I've purchased her plates and decor (they are purple and pink) but I need to know what food. I was given the idea of having a baked potato buffet. Give everyone a plain baked potato and have all the fixings and let them pick. For the children I was thinking of a chicken nugget tray and a fruit tray. The children will be 13, 17, and 21 months and 2 1/2 years old. We don't have any ideas for activities. We are going to have guests write a dream they have for her which we're putting in a can we decorated. She will open it on her 16th or 18th birthday. Any other ideas?

I have a one month old, who I recently switched to formula. I was just curious as to how much more or less she is eating than the other babies on formula. She is taking 4oz with a 1/2 scoop of rice cereal added to her bottle.

Can a one year old have an "attitude problem?" My daughter gets in these moods where she pushes you away, slaps at your hands when you try to change her, and she will lay down on the floor and cry. When she hits at me I have pushed her hands away, saying, "no, that hurts mom" but now I'm realizing that maybe that is what gives her the okay to hit and slap at people. She hasn't been doing this for more than a week. Maybe she got it from daycare? And right now, I'm telling her no and she keeps reaching for my coffee mug. Now shes laying on the floor crying. Do I ignore these fits? I cant even go to the bathroom and she's out side the door crying and rolling around on the floor!! Help me. I don't want a spoiled child, but I dont want her to feel neglected by "ignoring" her little fits and tantrums. Oh, and now she trows things. Where did this hostility come from?? Are all little kids like this. And I'm sure it olny gets better, right...

I like the name Mackenzie. However it is a LAST name and it means "SON OF KENZIE". So why do folks give that name to their daughters, and further more why don't new parents do a little research into names?

Honestly, would you name you daughter gary, mike, jeff, etc, or your son Susie, Betty, Veronica?

Folks, look up the names you want to name your children and Just so others can know, the proper name for a female should be Nickenzie, meaning Daughter of Kenzie.

P.S. It's gaelic, my daughter's name is gaelic and I studied very hard to find a fitting name.

i am finally pregnant and i am happy about it. however, i have never been around kids and i am an only child. i know nothing about raising kids and taking care of a baby. i worry all the time about if i am going to be a good parent and if i will really have motherly instincts on what to do. plus i also have nightmares almost every night about dying in the delivery room when the baby is born and then i have to leave my precious baby behind. anyone else experience this or worry about not being a good parent?
