All diapers are safe, as long as you wrap them around the baby's backside, and not his or her face. ;-)

I used Pampers Swaddlers for my baby when she was a newborn. That's what the hospital gave us, and they worked great. Now, we use the generic brand from Target or BJ's because they're cheaper and work just as well.

I hated Huggies because they always leaked. But then, I've heard Pampers was best for girls, and Huggies was best for boys. Don't know why.

Oh, I was one of those mothers that was "only the natural stuff for my baby". I wasn't going to use disposable diapers for anything, and that cloth was the way for me. Yeah, that lasted all of a week. I switched to the Target brand of diapers for my baby. The pros: Yeah, it is great for the environment, and also it is better for the baby's skin, for cloth breaths well. And it is cheaper overall to purchase a set of cloth diapers and wash and reuse them. The cons: It is easier to dispose of the dirty diaper than rinse and wash it, and it does create a better barrier agains gaps and leaks, causing less accidents due to a diaper moving in the pants. There are also no pins involved, so no chance of sticking yourself or the baby when the baby decides that they want to run, and not be changed. And it is much quicker to change a disposable diaper than a cloth one. The little balls that you are noticing is from the inside of the diaper. This usually happens when a rip in the liner occures, or you let the diaper get too full. Sometimes a change in brands will be the simple fix, but once in a while you may still see them. I don't think they are harmful if they are just there, and the kid doesn't ingest them. When you see them, use a washcloth and wash them off. That is what I did when I found them. My daughter is now 17 months old, and still going strong in disposable diapers. Good luck!!

Choosing diapers mostly comes down to personal preference. Some babies do react to certain diapers, so it really is a game of trial and error. In my experience, generally generic diapers are crap though. They are often made with cheaper materials, and don't always pull the moisture away like they should. But all the name brand diapers work fairly well.

All my friends that have kids each used a different brand, and they had no problems. If your baby does seem to get some sort of reaction (most commonly chronic diaper rash) try switching brands. But like the old saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Its usually up to you. However, there are a lot of people recommending Pampers here, and I have a caveat to this....aproximately 1/3 of children (including my own) are allergic to the chemicals that Pampers uses, and this allergy causes Yeast Infection diaper rashes. It tends to run in families. For whatever reason, Luvs or Huggies works well for these children. (Cloth diapers poses no risk of this chemical allergy at all.)

Use your own instincts. A baby can go through a package of disposables fast enough that it won't be a waste of money if you decide you don't like a brand. If you try cloth before disposable, cloth diapers can always be recycled into burp pads (throw over your shoulder to prevent spit up on your clothes), or even into cleaning rags, should you later decide you want to go disposable.

They're all safe. As far as allergic reactions I've heard from girlfriends that LUVS caused a rash on their baby's legs.

As far as leaks I found Huggies Supreme and Pampers were the best at preventing leaks. That's all I'll use because I got tired of changing sheets in the middle of the night and during naps. Plus, after a leak you have to give the baby a bath...and change clothes. A real pain in the middle of the night.

All diapers are safe.. just some will break out baby's bottom and it will take many different types to find the right one. But all of them do the same thing. I liked white cloud and luvs when was newborn.. but as he grew bigger Huggies fit better. Good Luck.

I have 2 month old son and we used Pampers swaddlers. They were the smallest one's that fit him right. Now we are using Huggies. They both work well. I have a bunch of luvs (gift) but I don't like those as good as the others.

they are all safe, but i used pampers on my son since he was born. and they also have this program going 'gifts to grow' where you enter the codes online and each package is worth so many points and then when you get so many you can chose different things such as toys, cd's, and other things.
i watch other kids as well and they all have cheap brands and they seem to do their job just as well.

They are all safe. Even if they don't have that cut out notch you can always fold the top over.

I used pampers when my son was a newborn and then luvs after that
