I wouldn't have a c-section unless I needed it. Just because your doctor said you baby is 6lbs, doesn't mean its true. It's just an estimate. My doctor told me I would have a big baby, about 8-9 lbs, and when she was born at 39 wks she was only 6 lbs. With a vaginal birth you will heal faster and have less pain.

I would never opt for a c-section. I am very short (4' 11") and didn't have a choice, my pelvis was too small. It took a long time to heal, and was really painful right after giving birth, especially when they press on your stomach to make sure you don't get clots. I had my baby at 35 weeks and he was 6lbs 9 oz and he was measuring bigger than that at my last sono, so you can't go 100% by that. Good luck!

I think they try to steer clear of doing c-sections if they can. Maybe they will try to induce labor if they think the baby is getting too big. I had to have a c-section at 36 weeks and my son was 8 1/2 lbs when he was born. They will make you wait as long as they can to make sure the baby is developed enough that they don't have to put him or her on any kind of machines to live the first few weeks of their life. They will more than likely let you deliver naturally unless they think your body is too small to deliver the baby at the size it ends up being at the time of delivery. BUT every doctor is different. Just so you know, c-sections are not scary and I'm going to have one with every one of my kids. SO much easier on you and the baby!!!!
Good luck!

you can opt for a c-section. many people like it vaginal, but you can schedule a c-section with you doctor. i suggest talking with your doctor first and see what they say. With my child, i was very small and didnt want to be in labor for 10-20 some odd hours. i asked my docotr is after i went into labor and i was progressing could i have a c-section. She said yes, if i was moving along like i should and i was getting really tired she would do a c-section. I didnt get on though i everything went smoothly and i had my baby in 7 hours. Good Luck and congrats.

Don't. They said my baby was almost 7 pounds at 33 weeks, over 8 pounds at 37 weeks and he was born at 39 weighing 7 pounds exactly. The ultrasound can be very inaccurate.

my son was 6 lbs 12 oz and it was a vaginal birth. and my sis in law had a 7lb 12 oz baby and it was also vaginal. I had an epidoral so i didnt feel a thing. I rather have a vaginal birth cause its faster healing time, and its not surgery.

no i would not suggest that as the lungs are not devlop at this stage so don't worry,u should atleast wait till 37 weeks, and if given birth at this time the baby might need some special care

i wouldn't. my doctor said my daughter would be over 10 pounds(Eeeek!) but luckily she was only 7 pounds and 11 oz.
vaginal is alot better, you heal quicker and you can get up soon after, lift your baby, etc.

If I were you, I'd try vaginal. It's so much easier and quicker to heal.
