Newborn & Baby - February 2007

Well, some one may report this as "Not a Question", but I answer lots of questions here, so I thought I'd let you guys know.....

Ava Lillian was born at 11:22a.m., on February 27, at our local Maternity Center.

She was delivered after about 11 hours of completely natural labor, with no pain medication, no medical intervention, and no episiotomy or tearing.

She weighed 8 lbs and 1 oz, and is 21 inches long.

Ava and I are now at home, and we're great!

My Husband and I are soon going to start fostering an infant and are unclear about how many bottles we are going to need. We don't have kids of our own and or know people with kids. We were also unsure about what we else we may need for baby.
Thanks

I am a proud, but slightly stressed, mom of a 2week old baby boy.. He is definitely on the fussy side, but he literally screams when I change his diaper.. He cries so hard that I worry that it is hurting his throat.. Is this normal behavior? Will this change when he passes his newborn stage?

I ask because I have a DD who will be 8 mo in 5 days. And for the past 2-3 weeks she has been fighting me tooth and nail everyday about naps. Up until then she was taking 45-60 mins nap anywhere between 8:45am & 9:30am. Then she would take an afternoon nap between 1:30pm-2:30pm for 2hours. Now she might sleep 30-45 mins in the morning and if Iam lucky 30-45 mins in the afternoon. The problem is she wakes up and she is still so tried and sometimes fussy and cranky. Though she is still sleeping through the night with no wake ups from 7pm-6:30am. But I fear the bad day time sleep will start to effect night time sleep(she has waken 3 nights in a row in the late evening this week). I have tried putting her in her crib and letting her CIO but she can go forever and not stop(the longest was 90 mins with 20 min check-ins). She is very strong willed for someone so young. Any tips or advice is great. Thanks

My baby is one month old and he wakes up for a bottle ( I am formula feeding) about 3 sometimes 4 times a night. I wanted to know if this is normal? Also I have been sleeping on the couch and letting him lay on my chest and he sleeps very well there. Is this ok or will this lead to problems with him going into a crib? And last is there chat rooms or something to just talk with other moms? Thanks for any help!

Okay... This is so confusing, My Due date is Friday March 2, 2007. I read alot so I got different information from people and websites. Like you should pump your breast before your baby is born so you star getting reading to breast feed, it also helps bring labor, but Im concern about loosing Colostrum... So what should I do?

We are thinking about getting a Quinny Buzz as our pram/car seat/ pram system for ur baby due later this year. We want to avoid a traditional pram as we think baby will generally be in and out of the car and so a frame/chassis where we can pop the car seat onto to be mobile will be the best option. Is this safe for baby as I have always heard that newborns need to be laid flat. Are Quinny Buzz's the best for this scenario?

I'm not quite sure if this is normal, so please be help. Ever since I started breastfeeding my baby I have noticed some "jello" looking (totally clear in color) tiny little things (the texture is almost rubbery but clear, not quite sure how to describe it) on my breast and in baby's diaper by genital area, has that ever happened to any one here, I already have a drs appt but I'm desperate to know....

My baby is due in 3 months and when she is born my husband and I will have been married for almost 3 years. My question is how do you make sure to nurture your marriage and relationship while at the same time caring and loving for a newborn? My husband is my best friend and we both want to make sure that our marriage is not neglected when the baby comes. A new baby really shifts your priorities around, and of course the baby will become extremely important to us both...but we don't want to forget each other either! I don't want us to end up walking past each other, eyes glazed over...one going for the baby...the other going for a fresh diaper. I once read that an author compared having a baby to throwing a hand grenade into a marriage...does anyone that's been through this agree with that comparison?

How do you juggle your marriage and parenthood. How do you possibly find time for each other between working and parenting?
