We are thinking about getting a Quinny Buzz as our pram/car seat/ pram system for ur baby due later this year. We want to avoid a traditional pram as we think baby will generally be in and out of the car and so a frame/chassis where we can pop the car seat onto to be mobile will be the best option. Is this safe for baby as I have always heard that newborns need to be laid flat. Are Quinny Buzz's the best for this scenario?

By length of time, I mean, One hur 2 hours etc. I am thinking that if baby is out with us all day then it will be in the car seat in the car then on the frame/chassis as a pushchair type set up then back into the car.

I abhor these types of travel systems. A baby should lie flat for as long as possible and there is evidence that time in car seats casues problems with the back and posture as they get older.

I hate seeing babys all squashed into these car seats on prams. A litte effort and you could have put your child in the pram properly. A baby rarely wakes when transferred and even if they do the motion soon sets them back. We have a bugaboo and the maxi cose car seat fits onto the chassis. We did use it like this ocasionally but soon realised that the little effort to put them in the pram properly was worth it.

Please reconsider your position. The car seat on the chassis is ok for the odd occassion but there is no way it should be the baby's only form of transport.

Reccomendations suggest no longer than 1.5 hours in a carryable car seat. If your dirving somewhere 30 mins away theres an hour already.

A couple of hours while baby is sleeping should be fine but u will need 2 get her out so she can have a stretch. I had a mamas and papas pram, that could also be used by the car seat and pushchair parts all fitted on the chasis. I always thought it was best 4 the babys spine to be laid flat in a pram. x

Don't know what a Quinny Biuzz is, but the Graco Snugride is probably the same. Check the limits on the box. The Graco limits are 22 pounds OR 27 inches. Most kids that is about 7 months.

The infant carseat will be marked on the side near the handle with information such as maximum height and weight. As far as positioning, I never hear it was better for an infant to travel flat. Some of those carseats have adjustable incline also. I used mine for about 1 year before moving on to a forward facing seat.

Read the manufacturers recommendations and guidlines. As a rule most convertible carseats can be used up until the baby is 20 pounds or 30 inches tall.

When you say how long, I take it you mean at a time? The current guidelines say you shouldn't leave baby in their infant carrier for more than 2 hours in a day. Which I found to be a very short time!!
