He has been unwell lately with ear infection etc but seems to be better now. He goes to bed about half 7ish but by about ten he wakes up crying. i settle him back down but he wakes crying again when i put him back in cot? this could happen a few times through night. It has only been the last few nights this has happened? He wakes at 7 has a bottle and is ready for a nap within the hour is this normal?

aren't babies just great!! lol well it could be alot of things. i would go back to the doc for a re-check of his ears. that is a biggie with children and not sleeping(mine is the same way at 18mo)
is he sleeping well at naptime, is the naptime to late in the afternoon??
is he learning to walk? if he is just starting that can cause excitement and then they wake up and remember that walking is fun and want to do it! (yup went through that also!)
is he still taking 2 naps a day he may only be needing one
here is my routine and it does work
up at 6 (he goes to daycare care soooo)
breakfast at 730
snack at 9 ish
lunch at 11:15
nap from 12-2
snack at 3 ish
dinner at 5ish
snack around 630 or 7
then by 730 he is ready for bed.......
the first couple of days will be kinda hard cuz he will be crabby but trust me it is soooo worth for both of you to sleep at nite
good luck

Mine is 11 months too, and wakes up every night between 4:00 and 4:10 now. For the last week and a half anyway. My pediatrician says this is normal...

She goes to bed about 10:00 PM and sleeps like a rock until 4:00 AM, then wakes enough to cry. I go in and settle her down, she goes back to sleep, I wake her at 6:30 for a bottle, and she goes back to sleep until about 11:00 AM.

She usually naps a bit during the day...

Good luck!!!

7 seems a little early to be putting him down to bed. Maybe thats one of the problems!!! My daughter did the same thing she slept all night for a few months then started waking again and now is back to sleeping again. She gets 1 nap during the day between 1-3pm and goes to bed for the night around 10-11pm and gets up in the morning about 9-10am. It seems like a good schedule.

Is he still on the bottle? Start taking him off the bottle maybe its not filling him up and hes waking up hungry. Try more meals and snacks instead of bottles. Just a suggestion.

Its not 2 early to be putting her to bed, babies sleep as long as they want anyway so it isnt really going to make a difference what time she goes down.

if u put her down at half 7 it just means she will wake up earlyer in the morning probably about 7 or so? so she will be tired by half 7 that night again anyway...

Wow, mine has been doing the same thing! She goes to bed at 8pm though, and has been waking up around 10. She just got her top tooth in, so I am thinking she may be having some teething pain. When she is teething hard I give her ibuprofen before bed and that really helps. I don't go into her room unless she is absolutely crying. she wakes up sometimes and just fusses a bit til she finds her stuffed bunny. She is really good at putting herself back to sleep so I know that if she is crying, there is something really wrong. She usually only wakes up the one time though.
You may want to have to doc recheck her ears, just to make sure they are clear. Or you may want to give her something for teething because that might be the problem.
I would think about moving the bedtime back a little bit though.

My son is 13 months previous. there have been days that i could no longer get him to take a snooze no rely what- i might lay with him, rock him- something. Now, i can get him to take a minimum of a million nap- in many circumstances 2 lasting everywhere from an hour to 2 hours. He nevertheless wakes interior the night besides. At 4 months, he began snoozing all the way throughout the time of the night- 8pm-7am. Then 2 months later- he began waking back. i assumed it grow to be a enhance spurt and he grow to be hungry. yet he nevertheless does it now. some night- he wakes screaming, so my wager is, it extremely is a foul dream. I grab him and he sleeps with us then- No reason to ask your self why he wakes. do no longer you wake interior the night? I do no rely- i'm getting thirsty, i'm getting hungry, I could pee. those are widely used reasons to wake. So possibly you in basic terms do unlike that he isn't any longer self-adequate? My suggestion- decide what comforts him the quickest. If he's hungry, feed him. If he's moist, substitute him. I also have a bottle made each and each night for my son- and that i visit stay armed with a bottle till he makes a decision he needs to sleep all night! it extremely is part of being a mom.

maybe teething ot the ear is not fully cleared up. babies sleep schedules change all the time too.
give him some tylenol and see if he continues to sleep with out waking, then you will know if he is waking due to pain
