Are you using breast pads? Especially the super absorbent ones like lansinoh brand?

Diapers and breast pads have a gel in them that absorbs the moisture of the urine and breast milk. I have noticed that some times i get the same tiny little beads on my boobs if I have leaked a lot, and I find them on the front of my son from his diaper.

Its dry and grainy in the diapers and pads before theyre wet, but expands into a gel when the liquid touches them. I wouldnt stress about it.

Disposable diapers and disposable nursing pads have a substance in them that is designed to absorb moisture. If the diaper or the pad get a little too saturated then this substance forms into tiny clear beads. This is what I think has been happening to you and your baby. I suggest that you change your nursing pad and your baby's diaper a little more often and I think that will clear up this problem. ADDED: No need to ever feel stupid when asking a sincere question. Any decent, experienced mom would be happy to share suggestions about what they've learned about being a parent.

I know exactly what you are referring to -- that is the little beady stuff that is inside diapers and disposable nursing pads. If your nursing pads are leaving that stuff all over you, try switching to cloth ones. You can just wash them in the laundry and they're not so messy! As for your baby's diaper, I've noticed this happens more when the diaper is thoroughly soaked. You can try changing your baby more often, or if you're already changing your baby often enough, try another brand. That stuff can be a pain, and hard to clean up! Good luck!

P.S. -- don't feel dumb, I think it's great that you actually noticed and took the time to find out what it is instead of just brushing it off and not thinking anything of it. What if it had been something else, something serious? Be proud of yourself for being a consciencious parent! :-D

Sounds like it could be thrush, aka nipple yeast. Essentially its a yeast infection. I had nipple yeast, but didn't have the "jello" things you are referring to. I had terrible itching, but I do know that a discharge is also a symptom. If it is nipple yeast, you will have to be disciplined about cleaning towels, bras, panties, etc., because it can be difficult to get rid of but very easy to return. My doctor even suggested I iron bras/panties, towels, everything that come into contact with those private areas because the heat from the iron kills the bacteria.
