My Husband and I are soon going to start fostering an infant and are unclear about how many bottles we are going to need. We don't have kids of our own and or know people with kids. We were also unsure about what we else we may need for baby.
Thanks

It's good to have a few bottles, spares, 8 oz 6 oz and what not. Diapers(If you're near a walmart, they have a brand called Parents Choice, it's inexspensive AND just as good as huggies), was cloths, wipes, formula, bottle warmers are a life saver if you have an upstairs and sleep upstairs. Nunies(pacifers) have a good range of different types because they'll pick the type they like. And pleanty of clothes! They like to get dirty xD. nallaufey@yahoo.com if you need anymore help:)

well since a baby can eat every 3 to 4 hours depending on age that makes around you using about 6 to 8 bottles a day, I suggest if you don't want to scrub bottles 3 times a dayI suggest to have at least 20 bottles around in a box under a cupboard. I'd say store enough for one day in the fridge and rinse when baby is done, santize, sertilize and prepare nightly. it sounds like a chore, but with routine, you'll get it down. good luck!

Well, you can get away with one bottle if you wash it between every feeding, but that's not very practical. A newborn drinks between 8-10 bottles a day. Usually only 2oz at a time for starters, but it doesn't matter what size bottle you use.

It depends on how old the child is. If they are young (newborn - 4 months) figure 6 oz every 2 hours (just to be safe they probably wont drink that much but just in case). at 4-5 months they start on solid foods and milk so they are different.
