Newborn & Baby - February 2007

He is 3 months now. I just started to give him a little bit of baby cereal (rice-kind) before bedtime, so he can sleep longer. Dr says it's okay if he takes it. Well, he does like it, but he seems to have less bowel movements during the day. One sometimes two in a day as opposed to the 4-5 he used to have. Is that still allright? Is he maybe more constipated because of the cereal?

i have a 4 week old baby i have been giving her formula and breast feeding her some ... the reason ihave been giving her formula is when she was born she would not nurse and would sleep through all her feedings if i let her , she hardly even wakes up for her bottle... she is a little more alert now but still sleeps like a log ... but i really want to breast feed her, i still have milk but i dont know how to switch her over and i dont think i have enough milk for that to be all she has since i havent been consistentwith nurseing... what do i do?

The last 2 nights in a row she has been extremely restless. She wakes every 45 min crying. I can get her to fall back asleep in about 10 min but...again...45 min later she wakes again. I am so tired and don't know what to do.

During the day she used to take a 2 hour morning and afternoon nap... the last 2 days she only took 2 45 min naps instead and she's been so fussy during the day too.. I took her temp and it's normal. I can get her to stop crying for a little while, but as soon as she's not being entertained she starts crying again.... I'm not goint to have any hair left!!! HELP... any advice is welcome. Thanks.

My brother and his wife gave birth to their first child about a month ago. Rather than get the child a gift like an infant suit or something of the like, I want to get him something he can enjoy. I was considering buying him a government bond that he can spend freely when hes in College. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance, Im also considering any other good ideas.

I like a different name, but these days things are getting out-of-hand. What is the celebrity thing with having to choose unpronouncable rubbish names? And why do white trash people name their children after cars they can't afford or words they don't understand?

Why did you choose to feed for the length of time that you did? Why did you stop when you did? I'm becoming a lactation consultant and am interested in mom's reasons for their choices. Thank you!

Someone I know who has taught me over the months is expecting a new born baby. We do not know if it is a girl or a boy but many of us our pitching in to give her a baby gift.

What are some good suggestions because we need to give it to her soon as we will not be able to give it to her before the baby comes.

Well, I found out my son is now 18 pounds and 10 oz. and 26.5 inches long. He is five months old the day after tomorrow. Do you think this is really large for a baby? He was supposedly born 6 weeks early ..so they say he is relly supposed to be more like 3.5 months old.
He doesn't look obese and is very active..anyone else here with a big baby? I guess I just remember that my daughter was a just about a year before she was this weight.
