My daughter nurses 4 times a day (8,12,4, and 8). Sometimes she also has a middle of the night feeding. She also is on solid foods: fruit and cereal for breakfast, veggies and cereal for lunch, and fruit and veggies for dinner. She nurses fast (up to 10 minutes at the most, sometimes only 5 minutes on one side). She seems happy and content, sleeps well, and is developmentallly on track. Does anyone else has a baby who nurses so little?

I know it sounds horrible, but I really don't want our families to be there when our daughter is born. I don't want to hurt any feelings, but I also don't like that they will use that to force me into something I'm not comfortable with. We live about 400 miles from our family, and they expect us to call once I've been admitted to the hospital so they can drive up immediately. I'd rather call them when the baby is born, and then they can leave. I also don't want them all hanging around our house the first few days she's home. I just want that time alone for the 3 of us - not the 9 other people that would be there if our parents and siblings showed up. My husband is in the Army and he's going to be in Iraq (again) by the time our daughter is 3-4 months old, so I'd like for us to have this time as a family. The grandparents and aunts/uncles will get her at Christmas and her first birthday and a bunch of other milestones - her daddy won't.

My best friend's child has caught RSV and is being given medication at home that the doctor gave them. I'm not sure what it was called except that they put a mask on him and let him breathe it in every two hours. The doctor told my friend that she must do it every two hours on the dot and not miss one dosage. What concerns me is the father is not doing it "on the dot." Sometimes he is as much as a half hour off. He just keeps saying "it'll be ok." This little one is like a son to me but I am too far away to help myself. Am I being a worry-wart or is my discomfort valid? Has anyone used a medication that sounds like this before? Was time very important? I don't want to butt in and complain about how he takes care of his son if it isn't really a big deal, but I'm just so worried.

I find that when I am reading a lot of questions on here, many people want to know what age their child should do this or that. Why is that nobody can understand that all kids are different and every child learns at different times. I mean my 5 month old is doing stuff that my cousins 7 month is just learning, why? because her baby was 2 months early, so its expected that her child is going to learn things at a different time. I just find that so many people want to compare their children and once they hear the answers, Im sure they being thinking their child is behind. I know most people answer with a range, but its always the same thing, every baby is different.

I'm 21 and 17 weeks pregnant! The pregnancy was unplanned, but most definately not unwanted... atleast on my part. Unfortunately my boyfriend of 3 years left me the moment I told him becuase he doesn't want anything interfering with his life-plan. I've contacted and informed my parents who are only willing to help me out by paying for everything the baby will need in the first 4 months... the problem is, I have no idea what new born babies need!!! Could anyone please help me draw up a list of everything I need to get for the baby???? Please.... I'm clueless but willing to learn!

my 9 month old son is not crawling quite yet, but he is pulling up and cruising the furniture. my problem is that i try to go to the gym about 3 times a week and they have a day care there. i only stay for 30 min to an hour while he is in the day care. it seems as though he is fine when i drop him off, but when i come to get him he is always screaming. the girls tell me that he insists on being held the whole time and is pretty fussy. at home he plays alot by himself and i don't hold him much at all, but it is just the two of us. i just feel bad for the girls at the gym and i feel bad for him not enjoying his time there. i feel strongly that working out is something i need to do for myself, but i feel guilty everytime i go. any suggestions for him, or me???

Are there any cold medicines that are safe to give to a 5 month old? I already put a call in to the Dr. and am waiting for a call back but wondered if anyone else knows and what kids are best? She just has a runny nose, slight cough and very low temp.

He used to sleep from 8pm until 6am, but know he cries at 9 and continues this every half hour until about midnight then gets up at 3 for a bottle. As soon as we pick him up he's fast asleep. Around 11 we give him a bottle but he only wants alittle then falls asleep. I have been told this could be teething, but it has been going on for awhile now.

I just started pumping last week to store milk and i am only getting about 2.5 oz a day. I have read that the first few times of pumping you wont get too much so it should be practice. She weighed 5 13 when we brought her home from the hospital and was up to 7 1 last week...is this a good weight gain?

My daughter developed a rash on her chest about two weeks ago. The bumps look like small pimples, and covered her upper chest, shoulders, and upper back. When I took her to the doctor, she said my daughter just had dry skin, and suggested I bathe her less often (twice a week), use less or no soap and apply moisturizer daily. I did this, but the rash is still there, and now it's spread to her lower abdomen. Any suggestions? Should I take her back to the doctor?

I like the name Payton Jackson. What do people think of the name? My husband says he likes Payton but as a middle name. If anyone has any ideas for a first name, I'd appreciate it.

It's all up in the air as I don't even know what I'm having but I'd like to be prepared. I'm due 10-10-2007.
