1 in 166 children having autism is the latest number they have come up with. However, infants are not necessarily born with it (they don't know what causes it - they may be born with it or it may happen later). Since it isn't diagnosed until the child is at least a few years old, there is no way of knowing how many kids with autism are born each year.

The last i heard,1 child in 166 have autism. Isn't that unbelieveable! I also have read that the increase in cases of autism have to do with toxins the mother ingests through drinking water and preservatives in foods and pesticides put on consumed veggies and fruits. So this is another man made problem...

autism usually isnt discovered until the 2nd or 3rd year of the childs life, so probably not very many are actually born that way.
